Good Morning,

Hope you enjoy this post. I found I have a mouse under my house. It's a white mouse that must have gotten lose from someone or they dumped it near here. I don't care if the mouse stays where it is as long as it doesn't come into my apartment.

How very odd about the mouse, isn't it.
Mabel went to the vet yesterday. She can now begin decreasing her meds. =)

So glad to hear the good news about Mabel. Am very happy that she is feeling better. Give Mabel and Henry a pat from Pierre and me.

Yes it is odd about that mouse. He comes really close to you, then takes off under the building. Sometimes he sits on his back legs and stairs at me. When I act like I am coming to get him he or she takes off under the building.

Do you know what the large wooden object with the plastic liner in the 5th picture is? My friend was there and told me about the beautiful quilts. I can't wait to see them in your pictures.

Do you have a local paper with a lost and found section? Maybe the mouse is a child's pet that got loose.

Vickie, what great news about Mabel.

Thanks for the Auction Posts Marilyn

Some very nice items-I particulary like the heavy wood bedroom furniture in the first post and the toy train

Happy to hear about Mabel Vickie

I also was wondering about that box Doreen and thought it might be a cool box perhaps

Hello Doreen,

David asked me what I thought it was when I first took the picture. I came up with all sorts of things, but none of them right. Then I made a kidding sort of smart remark and said it was a potty-he told me I was right. It's for potty training little children. He said they have one at their house for David Jr. but David Sr. made theirs. He said it is too small for an adult to sit on, but he has taken it when he went hunting for the weekend. But, he said, the men have to have a good aim. I was laughing so hard at that I couldn't talk.

I did get the local newspaper today and am going to look up to see if anyone is looking for a missing white mouse.

The first quilt will be on July 1st. Maybe sooner if the computer allows me to change the pictures.

Hi Fionalina,
It is a children's potty. I still laugh when I think of David telling me about it. I really liked the bedroom set, too. I would love to have one in my bedroom. The one I have was commercial made. Pictures don't show the handmade detail on them that isn't on commercial furniture.

Hi Marilyn

Full marks to me then :)

The bedroom set is lovely and I too wish I had one like it -so solid looking- you can imagine it being passed down for several generations

I didn't realize that the box was sitting on a table. It looked like it was much larger than it really is. When I started to read your response, I thought "wow that's a giant size potty", but now I see the books next to it so I know the size.

My friend said that the shaker style bedroom set, which I think is the first one in your pictures, was solid maple and there were several pieces sold with it, like the dresser and night stands. It sold really cheap, like $2,700.00. She said that they were all beautiful.

Hi Fionalina,

I really liked that too and there is another I have pictures of that I haven't put on yet. To think someone knows how to make those beautiful sets. I know David, Edward and Michael are making a set for Katie.

Hi Doreen,

I guess I should have shown the table a little better.

WOW that bedroom went cheap especially for the workmanship. Many of the quilts went for between 300 and 400 dollars. I know that's a lot of money, but most Amish or Mennonite quilts I see are about $800.00 to $1,000.00. Want to save up this year and hope I have enough money to buy one for my bed next year.

Those wooden boxes were outdoor planters, there are two in the picture, the liners are plastic

Anonymous is right. I called David, he thought I knew he was kidding. He couldn't believe I put on what I did. He said he won't kid with me like that again. He apologizes for what he said. He thought I knew what they really were. They are really outdoor planters. Jean is discussing his joke with David right now. I told her not to worry about it.

great photos!
so glad Mabel is doing better.
I recognized the planters, no need to worry over a small joke like that!
I would love to know how to can sauerkraut, that is good, and most of the salt could be rinsed away, (I don't need the excess sodium) before eating. Also does it have to mold if you make it in a crock? I heard somewhere that a piece of ginger root in the crock would keep it from molding. I have never made it but would like to try. Also is there a good apple pie filling you can can that is not too overly sweet? And a good sweet pickle recipe that stays crisp and does not get soft or mushy. Thanks Olive, so much for sharing, I am looking forward to any & all recipes you choose to share. Blessings!

How funny about the planters. I would have believed him too. I love the line" Jean is discussing his joke with David right now". I can just imagine the conversation!

Hi Doreen,
Jean didn't like that he pulled a joke like that on me and he should have know I was asking for New York State of Mind. Also she didn't not like the good aim part. I can imagine this conversation, too.
