As you may know, I have been working at the Nutrition Center for the last three months. I have learned everything I was to know and did the work, but receive no pay check. These three months, I waited while they made a decision about what was going to happen - and nothing happened. So I felt it was time to think of me.
I explained that if the position came open, I would consider it, but that I needed something that would pay me now. So I switched careers and decided to go back doing what I did years ago. I am going back to substitute teaching. Starting tomorrow, I will be taking a two day course to bring me up to date on school things that have changed, regulations, schedules, safety rules, etc. I have taken this course before, a few years back, but I didn't think it would hurt taking it again to get the latest information. After the course is completed, I can chose my school or schools. I want to go back to the one I worked at before. One thing about schools is that they pay. You get a check on the 15th and 30th.
So if I do not respond to your comments for the next two days, that is why. When I start teaching, I may not be here on days that I substitute. Right now, I plan on leaving everything on New York State of Mind the same. Posts for ahead are on the computer to come on right now.
So, as I said, my life is changing a bit. I don't know when I will start substituting. I want you to know in case I am not on here.
Yesterday, I went to Jean's and I noticed that they painted the above school a beige now. I would have taken pictures, but students were in the school and I didn't want to upset them or the teacher. Next time I go that way I will take pictures of the school.

Hi Folks,
I have worked at Nutrition for a total of two years. The last three months was for my bosses position. With no pay, I am moving on, at least for a while.
So, I am going back to school.

What a great plan Marilyn. May God richly bless you in this!
Marilyn - i am sure that the folks at the nutrition centre will miss your help greatly...but you are right, it is time to take care of you! and teaching can be such a rewarding (and paying!) job. i wish you all of the best!

Thank you Kymber,
I am sure Nutrition me, but I have to do what I have to do. I do enjoy working with children especially those that have reading problems. There's nothing like seeing their eyes light up when they understand and they really get it. Thank you so much for your comments.

Thank you, Sue Ann. I already called one of the schools that I want to sub at, but the lady had gone home already. Back to my class today.
