SAUDERS - BOOKSTORE AND HANDMADE WOODEN CRAFTS
Sauders has become somewhat of a tourist attraction over the years. The store has always got many customers in it. If you should go, do not come on Saturday as the store is packed. They are closed on Sunday. In these pictures I really thought it funny that they had the bird feed in the handmade craft section - I think it is because of the handmade bird houses. I really enjoy their bookstore. I hope you have enjoyed Sauders. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend that you stop here.

Good Morning jaz,
Glad you liked the pictures. I enjoy shopping there.

I would spend twice as long in the book store than in the food section. I have a passion for books!!
Thanks for the pictures.
Will the party continue through the weekend? I hope so. Have a great day.

Good Morning Doreen,
If you get a chance to come up this way sometime, you will have to go there. My favorite part of the store is the books, too.
I thought my party was over and then some friends that go to Florida every winter asked me out for dinner tonight. I thought they had left for Florida, but they haven't. So here I go again.

Hi Marilyn, Happy Birthday! Oh how I wish that I lived close enough to be able to shop there. Maybe someday I will take a trip to the great state of NY.
I have some questions about a recipe called Potato Filling. Found it in an Amish cookbook and am interested in how it is served. Is it used instead of bread stuffing or potatoes? Is it an special occasion dish? And of course if there is a favorite recipe that can be shared.
Karen
Hi Karpits,
Thank you for the birthday wishes. That is so kind of you. I hope you get up this way some time and get to go to Sauders.
I never heard of potato filling, so I will have to get a hold of Jean and ask her about that one.
Marilyn
Hi Karen,
I got a hold of Jean. She said the recipe can be used as stuffing for say a turkey or it could be could be served as a side dish at a meal instead of your plain mashed potatoes. She will put the recipe on the Christmas recipe a day that we will be having starting on December 12th.

The pictures are great. Love the wooden items. There ware quite a few drying racks, I use them in the winter. Never liked the dryer. Keep on taking pictures, very enjoyable.

Thank you so much, Jodie. Glad you enjoyed them.

Marilyn, Happy Birthday wishes to you. I enjoyed this post, the photos are wonderful. I like the book section best too! But both my husband & myself like the bird house photos, they are different from any we see here. I really enjoy all your sharing. I hope you and Jean, and Elmer, your readers, everyone, and Pierre, all have a very happy Thanksgiving.
