Reed's Corner Federated Church was founded in 1994. According to what I could find, in some places it is said to be in Rushville, New York and some in Canandaigua, New York. Also, some say the church is open and some say it is closed, so I don't know. I pass this church on the way to Jean's. The cemetery is next to the church. I am not sure it is owned by the church, but it looks like it.

Good Morning magnoliasntea,
Glad you like the church photos. No, I haven't consider doing that. I will check it out.

Good Morning,
That is another beautiful church! I sure hope it is in use. It amazes me the places you will see churches spring up - there is a small shopping center about 4 blocks from where I live - next door to a leather furniture shop is a store space being used as a church!
Hope everyone has a nice day,
Laura
Hi Laura,
It amazes me where churches spring up, too. Glad you liked this church.

yes, this church is still open and active, I know people that attend here!
Hi! I love the pictures of this church! I feel a pull towards it because of the white wood siding, reminding me of simpler days gone by!
Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for telling us. It seems like such a nice country church. I would hate for it to just sit there unused. Appreciate your giving us the good news that church is being used.

Good Morning Melissa,
To me, this looks like a nice country church.

Around my area, Federated Churches are usually some combination of Congregational, Methodist, and Baptist maintaining affiliation with multiple denominations.
Normally formed as congregation sizes grew to small to support a building and minister by themselves, they merged "operations" but I guess doesn't make any family give up the theological nuances they grew up with. So you have one church, one minister, one service...but belong to two or more denominations.
Anyway, I'd suspect that might make figuring the history of any given church kind of tough unless you're a member to track who was merged in, which denominations they continue to affiliate with, etc.
Hi Matt,
Thank you for your information. I know that some of the smaller churches close to Canandaigua Lake close in the fall and open again about this time of year. Many of people that attend those churches are summer residents.

Hello, I came across this post via a google search.
Wanted to let everyone know that the Church is still active. My family attends this Church.
Great to see these pictures online! Thanks!
Hello Anonymous,
So glad to hear that the church is still active and that your family attends. I have driven by there many times.
Marilyn
This church was founded way before 1994. I found your post because I am tracking a minister who served there in 1935.
