MARBLETOWN ONE ROOM SCHOOL HOUSE - 2
The first three pictures are of the first aide kit that they had there. The third picture tells it was made in Buffalo, NY about 80 miles from where I live. Picture four is of President Washington. Picture five is their First Aide certificate way back then. Picture six is of a map. Seven is of the desk the students went to when working up front. Seven and eight are of cards they used. Eight is of one of their former students. Nine and ten are of other groups that met there in the evenings and news of the school. Eleven is another book they used. Picture twelve shows the bathroom that was put in in the 1930's so the students wouldn't have to use the outhouse in the winter. The first picture of the floor shows where the desks use to be attached. The second picture square shows where the original wood heater was installed. Admission to this school is free. They do have a place for donations, if you would like, but is not necessary. Would be interesting for adults or children.
THERE WILL BE A POST BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, THIS WEEK.

what a treat
Good morning, Marilyn. Love history! Thank you for the pictures. I think I would be a little afraid of the toilet. LOL
Good Morning Tom,
Glad you like it.

Good Morning Angela,
I love history, too. You are welcome for the pictures. I couldn't use that toilet, either. It's too low to the ground. I would get down, but I wouldn't be able to get back up. LOL

Another wonderful post Marilyn. I love that they have preserved so many items and the schoolroom is very well taken care of and clean.
Thanks, Marilyn! This is so interesting! If one is willing to get down to the "nitty gritty", I find nothing wrong with one-room schools. Schools are supposed to be places of learning(not that that can't be done at home), not places for kids to see how much they can throw their weight around re: teachers+other students; with how much they can get away etc. Learning is a life long process. How many people actually realize this fact?
Enjoy the weekend and lovely weather! Blessings, Carol
Hi Marilyn. Really enjoyed the photos of this school. I really like its' architecture too. Thanks to Jean and Grandmother Olive. I know Jean's recipe would be good as I've had a similar salad. Thankfully, my arthritis doesn't bother me much but good to read some home remedies that may help us. Hope all is well with you and Pierre. Hugs to you both.
Hi Folks,
I am glad that they have preserved the school. It is the only one around that is preserved. Bet a one room school was really neat going to. Don't think there were the problems with them that are today.
Happy Father's Day,
Marilyn
