THOMAS GALLOWAY HOUSE B&B AT PARAGON FARM PART - 1
I drive by this farm every time I go to take pictures of the osprey. Thought it was a farm, which it is, until I stopped and read the sign in the front. This beautiful place is not only a farm but a Bed and Breakfast. I thank Margaret Green, the owner, for allowing me to come and take pictures of the interior the Bed and Breakfast and farm.
The first picture is the sign I finally read. Picture two is a picture of the Bed and Breakfast that was built in 1855 by masons who worked on the Erie Canal. The house was built for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Galloway (picture 3) who were one of the founding people of our town and village. This house is largely original.
Picture 4 thru 7 are of the living room and dining room of the house and the beautiful view from the windows. Pictures 8 - 13 are of the different bedrooms that you can stay in at the Bed and Breakfast. The last three pictures are of the beautiful bathroom.
Thomas Galloway House is located in the country - it is not right in the village. All Around the Paragon Farm are crops growing, this time of year. It is a a very peaceful area - away from the tensions and problems of the world - and yet it is just a short drive from our local village, museums, restaurants, etc.
Yet it has the moderns of the world like television, wifi and air conditioning. In addition to Bed and Breakfast it is used for Birthday Parties, Showers, Receptions, Teas and more. This would be a excellent place for a honey moon.
Tomorrow we will have the outside of the farm.
For reservations or questions, you can contact Margaret Green, owner at 315-597-6742 or on your computer at: woolwich@rochester.rr.com

Marilyn, what a wonderful find.
Good Morning Marilyn, what a wonderful place this would be just for a weekend away. Cathy in Webster
Good Morning Tom,
It sure is. These pictures don't do it justice.
Marilyn
Good Morning Cathy,
It sure would be. Really beautiful there both inside and out.

Beautiful pictures. Love the bedrooms furniture. Just makes me want to spend the night there. But I have an idea its way more than I could afford.

Oooo, just lovely! Does the owner live there also? Have you any info on the Galloway family you can share as they were founders of the town? Love history, people and homes! Take care+blessings, Carol
Good Morning Jodie,
Her prices are not bad at all especially when most Bed and Breakfasts are renting for over $100.00 a night per person, around here. Her price is $50.00 per person per night. That includes tax and breakfast. To tell the truth, even though she is in town, I am thinking of going there and staying a night or two. It would be nice and peaceful there.
She also has only one couple, family or person, at a time, which is another thing I like.
By the way, she hasn't been booked in for Canal Town Days yet. So if anyone was thinking of coming to our town in September for Canal Town Days, this would be the place to stay. Now would be the time to book.

How beautiful Marilyn such a peaceful looking place. Thank you for sharing.
Good Morning Carol,
Yes, Margaret lives there. I can't tell you too much on Thomas Galloway. His family owned most of that road, but his house is the only one still standing. His family were farmers.
When Margaret purchased the house back in the 1990's, it was an apartment house. She turned it back into it's historic glory and the Bed and Breakfast it is today. The furniture, wall paper, floors, rugs, etc. are all of that time. Some of which she handmade herself. It is really something to see especially when you think of all she had to do to restore it.

Good Morning jem60,
I am so glad you like it.
Marilyn
You are right Marilyn, price is VERY reasonable. You can't get a motel for that.
I hope you get a chance to have a night out.

Hi Jodie,
It is reasonable. You right about motels. I hope I get a chance to go there. Would love to be with all that history and have someone fix me breakfast in the morning.

Lovely! I have that same tall secretary in my living room. It was purchased by my grandmother during the 1920's from the Crescent Department Store in Spokane, WA. The label on the back indicates that it was made either in Ohio or in Pennsylvania. I haven't looked at the back of it for a while. It's a beautiful piece.
Hi Prairie Stitcher,
I use to have one of those, too. Noticed it first thing in Margaret's living room. I bought mine from an estate in Florida. Sold it when I moved back north. Wish I had kept it and had it shipped up here.
