ELMER'S POST

It is 92 degrees outside as I give this to Marilyn.  Also, it is very dry outside.  We thank the Lord  that, so far, we haven't had any fires like out west or floods like in West Virginia and other areas.  At this time, we could use some rain, though.  I guess we are getting some later in the week, but it won't be much.

Anna, our daughters and daughters-in-law have Anna's garden in and the flowers around the outside of the house.  They are discussing having a roadside stand this year.  We first thought it would be at our house, but our daughter Alma is going to have it at her house.  She has children that could help with it where we don't .  Oh, some of them would come to our house, which they do anytime, but it would be more convenient for them at their house.  So it will be.

Anna is going to have some of her plants and vegetables there.  This week, our daughters are coming  to help Anna can strawberries that we have growing.  Some of them will be jams and jellies.  Some will be canned for Anna to use in pie, bread, etc. during the winter.  Some of the fresh strawberries will be put in our rented freezer drawer at Jean and David's.  Anna also uses the canned jams and jellies as gifts at Christmas time.  If she has extra fresh strawberries, jams and jellies - she will sell them at the roadside stand.  The way the strawberries are growing, I think she will have enough for the roadside stand.

Whatever money Anna gets from selling the vegetables, plants or fruit that she sells at the roadside stand is hers.  She can use it for whatever she wants.  Unless she makes my birthday gift, anniversary gift and Christmas gift, I know she uses, at least part of that money, for my gifts.  That's why I don't know what she got me before the occasion comes around.  She calls it "just in case" money.  Just in case we need money for something we weren't anticipating, so we don't have to go to the bank or use the credit card.

By the way, Anna thanks you all for your prayers.  She is doing really well.  She is back taking care of her greenhouse, cooking, cleaning, sewing, etc.  We can even go for walks together now, if we don't go too far.

The doctor told Anna she would always know when the weather changes.  Ann said he is right.  It isn't bad pain, sort of an ache, but you know when the weather changes.

Seeing today is non-church Sunday, and 92 degrees outside, we had left-overs for dinner.  Anna was going to cook, but I said we must have something you don't have to cook.  So we had turkey sandwiches, chow chow, and beet eggs.  For desert we had cookies. Later we had a snack of cheese and crackers.  To drink we had ice tea.

We had visitors today.  Bishop Eli and Emma were over.  John, Sarah and grandson John were also over to visit.  Thomas and Ruth, Jean's son and daughter-in-law came over looking for John and Sarah.  Anna served cookies, lemonade, and ice tea.  We all had a nice chat, singing and prayer.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

OSPREY - HAS TWO BABIES

I made a mistake.  Thought there was just one baby osprey, but this year there are two.  Pictures show Mom Osprey with the babies  and the proud Dad.

GOD'S CREATURES - LAMBS

I believe the farm these lambs were on is a Mennonite Farm.  Also, have a goat in there, too.

COTTAGES ON THE LAKE, CANANDAIGUA, NY

These cottages were built, out onto Canandaigua Lake, many years ago. These were built off the village dock.  They were built just for people to use them during the day, but not to sleep in.  Well, over the years people have added stoves, refrigerators, TV's, beds, etc.  Now, most of them used, as summer cottages.  A few years ago, we had a few fall in the water, but they were rebuilt.  I took these pictures last March.
