AFRICAN VIOLET SHOW

Thank you Anna, Jean and Dottie for seeing that I got here last Saturday.  I enjoyed it there and in taking these pictures.  These are no where near all the pictures of the African Violets that I took so I will be putting some on now and then. The first is the sign of the group putting on the show.  The lower sign and plant tell of the african violet loss during our March wind storm and power loss in some places.  Three, four and five are the judges choice.  Six thru ten are african violets in the show.  It was held in the activity room of an Assistant Living - the same place as last year.  Many of the african violets were entered by residents there - many were entered my members of the club.  They also had a room selling africian violets and supplies, but they asked me not to take pictures there, so I didn't.

My african violets are not doing well right now.  During my sicknesses, I forgot to water them and put them in the window.  I don't know if I can pull them through or not.  Jean and Anna gave me some advice which I am doing, so I hope they live.  Don't think they will make the fair this year, but Anna says I have almost four months.

African Violets have always been 'perennial favorites.'

So sad about the loss of so many during the power outage.
Those are lovely in your pics. Hope yours recover!

Good Morning Mary,
It is sad that so many were ruined with the power outage. Glad you like the pics. I hope mine recover, too.

Good morning Marilyn, happy to hear you got out to the show. Even though we lost power, my African violets are in the same room as our wood burning stove, so that room never got as cold as some parts of my house and they survived. Take care Marilyn. Cathy in Webster

Good Morning Mary,
I really enjoyed the show and being with Anna, Jean and Dottie. So glad your wood burning stove saved your African Violets. We didn't lose our power, but I just didn't take care of them. Now I am paying for it.

You take care, too,
Marilyn

I love African violets and have had them in the past. Marilyn, I think yours will recover with some TLC. Glad you were able to go to this show and take photos.

Good Morning dynnamae n,
Glad you love the African Violets. Anna said the same thing you did about my plants recovering if I take care of them and I have been taking care of them. She also told me not to go the other way and over care for them. I am glad I was able to go and take pictures.
