They usually have it with smoked ham, but the last time it was baked in the oven.

MarilynNew York State Of Mindhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079961105585950354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4005870656044436056.post-23266936639543611462013-08-15T13:35:27.849-04:002013-08-15T13:35:27.849-04:00Hello Jean, do you serve the fruit casserole with ...Hello Jean, do you serve the fruit casserole with smoked or with cooked ham?Gisanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4005870656044436056.post-62787965431232158702013-08-15T11:18:10.103-04:002013-08-15T11:18:10.103-04:00I love anything with fruit. I saw this recipe and made it instead. I didn't have any cherries on hand, but I used a can of fruit cocktail in it's place. I also had some blackberry juice on hand and mixed a small bit of that in with the fruit juice. I added a small bit of blue berries out of the freezer also, just using up some of what I already had. I made 2 of these, one for the funeral family, and another for us here to home. It looks so good, and I really appreciate all of you sharing the recipe. I never use brown sugar in my cobblers or a casserole, but it looks and smells delicious. I did go ahead and make up some fresh table jam with the leftover blackberry juice and the brown sugar and corn starch to thicken, since I had them out on the counter already. My husband loved it over his biscuits for breakfast, he thought the brown sugar added a great flavor to the jam. I enjoy all the posts. Thank you for helping me bless a grieving family today.
