The bank people moved into a new bank down the road in August, so it is still in great shape. I have heard of snow bringing some buildings down. It is terrible.

I hate to see the bank go especially after losing those buildings in the fire, but time moves on.

Thank you for telling me, Matt.

Marilyn

New York State Of Mindhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079961105585950354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4005870656044436056.post-49106278443023464342013-09-20T14:55:57.043-04:002013-09-20T14:55:57.043-04:00Reminds me of an 1830s era church in Templeton, MA...Reminds me of an 1830s era church in Templeton, MA that came down for a Dunkin Donuts.

http://www.telegram.com/article/20130821/NEWS/308219539/1160

Unfortunately, if you can't find a modern use for the buildings, this sometimes has to happen.

Several years ago the town next to me lost a former church of similar age during a winter with very high snowfall. It was now a real estate office, who probably couldn't afford to maintain such a large building properly, and it collapsed under the snow load (thankfully the real estate folks heard noises and got out in time!)
Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01903593561651852717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4005870656044436056.post-27677495117267002932013-09-20T13:20:53.471-04:002013-09-20T13:20:53.471-04:00Hi Doreen and Jodie,
Thank you for the compliments...Hi Doreen and Jodie,
Thank you for the compliments. I appreciate them. The building in the background of pictures 1-5 may be torn down for a Dunkin Donuts. The historical society is having a fit. It was a bank, but is now empty. If the historical society decides it stays, it stays. That building goes way back. I kind of wish out town would turn it into the Police Station. The one we have is so tiny and if they want to put someone in jail, they have to drive them to Lyons about 25 miles away. I think it's time we got a bigger one.

Marilyn New York State Of Mindhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079961105585950354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4005870656044436056.post-22813485139451684762013-09-20T12:00:56.742-04:002013-09-20T12:00:56.742-04:00I love the pictures. We have Canal Town parade bigger than the Fireman's Parade, Pirates Day and the Horse Parade put together.

Give Mabel and Herman a hug from Pierre and me.

MarilynNew York State Of Mindhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079961105585950354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4005870656044436056.post-44167875080031375942013-09-20T06:11:10.585-04:002013-09-20T06:11:10.585-04:00Thanks Marilyn!
