Good Morning Evie,
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate Tom for sending the pictures.
The last one is my favorite, too.
Yes, the girls in the long print dresses are Mennonite.

Great pics! I'm sure it take such in the way of pre-planning, logistics, and good old fashioned hard work-everyone cooperating together- to have such a successful event, all to help others in need. Also Marilyn, congrats on the 300,000 page viewers! Blessings, Carol
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI am sure it takes a lot of hard work to have an auction like that. In spite of all that happened to Penn Yan and their area, they still did it and it came off on time.
It is all you pageviewers that I thank to make the 300,000. I am so surprised that I have so many viewers.
Blessings to you and yours,
Marilyn
Great pictures Marilyn, thanks to you and Tom.Gives us a great idea of what they had and some activities.Especially love the beautiful quilts.
ReplyDeleteAlso please tell Jean and Anna thank you for sharing the recipes. And tell Anna thank you for sharing her daily activities with us on her post on Monday.I enjoy reading all the post.

Hi Marilyn! I also attended on Friday evening. I had never been before so was unsure what to expect. What an awesome event!!! That young auctioneer in the fourth photo was a hoot!!! He was really good and made the most unusual "call" as he awaited bids! It sounded similar to a turkey call!
ReplyDeleteTom's photos are wonderful!I had my camera and didn't take anywhere near the number of photos I would have liked. I found myself looking at so many things, I had trouble thinking about looking through the lens! I did get one photo of a little boy listening to the men in the barn as they spoke. He was so adorable!
One thing that was really cool was that my husband couldn't get over the hospitality of the folks working this event. Being in a wheelchair, he often feels uncomfortable around people...the only thing he had trouble with there was getting around on the grass. He really was impressed, though!
Hi Ingrid,
ReplyDeleteI will surely thank everyone for you. The Haiti pictures that Tom took really do show what they had and activities.
Marilyn
Hi Katya,
ReplyDeleteGlad you and your husband had such a good time. Sorry your husband had problems getting across the grass. The auctioneer and the boy sound great. I didn't get there this year, but my first time there was last year, I really enjoyed it.
IF you would like to send your pictures, I would be glad to put them on here. My e-mail is

Hi Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteThank you for continuing this blog - and congratulations on having so many viewers! This truly is a special place to read, share, learn and interact with others :) Please say thank you for me to Tom for sharing the photos - those quilts are spectacular and I must admit, the first thought that went through my head at seeing the 3 young ladies in the 1st photo is that they looked a lot more comfortable than their counterparts (in what they were wearing - not that anyone was wearing anything wrong - maybe long, cool, flowing dresses are appealing to me right now).
God bless you and a hug to Pierre :)
Laura
Tom took great pictures. The quilts are so beautiful and it looks like they had a big variety of items. I'm always impressed at how much fun the Mennonite teenagers are having. Englisher teens just want to hang around and look "cool", but the Mennonites like to have some old fashioned fun.
ReplyDeleteDoreen
Those are such gorgeous quilts .. I can't imagine the amount of time it takes to complete one of them. Thank you for sharing those pictures.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Laura,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliments, but it is people like you that made us hit the pageviewers. I do notice the people in that picture looking at the ladies. I will have to ask Jean or Anna if the long dresses are cool in the summer. I will see that Tom gets your message.
Marilyn
Good Morning Doreen,
ReplyDeleteTom did take some great pictures. I love the quilts, too. Yes, the Mennonite are having fun. It's nice to see that.
