Things are going to change next week and next week only. Jean and I have been putting on recipes for next week. There will be an Easter Recipe on every day starting on March 28th and the last one will be on April 4th. Also, below the recipe will be a little verse or saying.
On April 3rd, Good Friday, I have a post on by Bishop Joseph giving us something to think about at this Holy time. He gave me the post already and I think you will enjoy it. Also, I will have something on for Easter Sunday.
I spoke with Jean, Elmer, Anna, Martha, Grandmother Olive and myself. We decided we are going to take the week off. We have never done this before. But, Jean and Anna have a lot of baking and cooking to do for their family for Easter. The men have chores to do. Both the Amish and Old Order Mennonites will have communion on Good Friday. As for me, beside a day here and a day there, I haven't had a week off. So, we are taking off.
Knowing me, I can not stay away from the computer or New York State of Mind for a week. Probably never happen unless I couldn't get near a computer. So, I will be on and answer comments, but it won't be as often as I do it now. If the weather is nice, maybe I will be able to get out and get pictures as I am getting low. Very low.
We will be back on April 6th with posts and hopefully more pictures. Also, we hope you understand our taking the week off. If you want to contact me, during that time, leave a message and I will get it. I just may not be as fast in getting it or answering it.
Don't leave as I have items every day this week. Also, we hope you enjoy the Easter Recipes.
We all hope that you have a religious and Happy Easter,
Jean, David and family
Elmer and Anna
Grandfather Albert and Grandmother Olive
Bishop Joseph, Martha and family
Bishop Eli and family

THIS IS THE SECOND POST. ANNA HAS ONE ON BEFORE THIS ONE.
Good morning, Marilyn. Have a wonderful "mini" vacation! I so appreciate the time and energy that everyone puts into the stories. I'll be waiting!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Angela,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much and for being so understanding. I really appreciate it.
Glad you will be waiting.
Marilyn
What better time to take a break, time to reflect on the season than Holy Week? Everyone needs time to re-charge. Many, many thanks for all that you and the wonderful writers give to us. Looking forward to the recipes and other postings.
ReplyDeleteMary
Good Morning Mary,
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so understanding. We thought Holy Week would be a great time to take a break. Thank you for coming and reading all that we put on.
Marilyn
I think this is an excellent and good idea. I have wondered many, many times why you do not take at least one day off a week, maybe Sunday? No one expects you and all the others to post every day. Not at all. So glad to hear from you all every time. Thank you to everyone of you!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Vickie,
ReplyDeleteI must admit it is hard, sometimes, to have something on seven days a week. Sunday would be a good day to take off. I started out at only three days a week and we grew. I will consider that. Thank all of you for coming all the time and the compliments.
Marilyn
Enjoy your mini vacation. Everyone needs time off to regroup. You do an excellent job and I know I'm not the only one to check in to your blog first in the AM
ReplyDeletejoodie
Good Morning Jodie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the compliments. We do need a break once in a while. Thank you for coming, it means a lot.
Marilyn
Good Afternoon Everyone,
ReplyDeleteJean and I just got the last of the recipes on for Holy Week. We hope you enjoy them. Grandmother Olive's Mincemeat Pie recipe is on and Anna has one on. I don't know if Grandmother Olive is very happy that we put her recipe on April Fool's day.
Marilyn
I have a suggestion. Some newer readers may not be familiar with how David and Jean built their family. A review of their story might be interesting for new folks.
ReplyDeleteHi Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteWe all need a day of rest
Enjoy your week off
I plan to take some time off during Holy week myself
Please wish Jean, Elmer Anna, Olive and all the others
A Blessed Holy Week and
a Blessed Easter
Wendy
Hi Anonymous,

Holy and Blessed Week and Easter to you and yours,
Marilyn
Hi Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteI too think it is a wonderful idea that you take some time off.You all deserve a break and i agree you and the others should not feel pressured to come up with something every single day of the week. As you know i really enjoy this blog, i look in every day, wouldnt dream of leaving.

I think everyone has worked over-time to provide all these posts for us! It is past time to take a break!
ReplyDeleteI have you on my reading list in my blog reader so anytime you put up a post, I will see it. I go through all my list almost every day! And, even if I miss a day or two for whatever reason, I still go through every notification to make sure I don't miss anything!
I follow about 100 blogs. And while I love them all, if they all posted every day I'd have to quit my job just to keep up with them all! :)
I hope everyone enjoys their break! And I thank each and everyone of you for all the effort you put into this for us.
Enjoy your time off.
ReplyDeleteI wish everybody a Happy Easter.
Looking forward to Bishop Joseph's post.
