DYNNAMAE N MAKES GRANDMOTHER OLIVE'S RASPBERRY & BLUEBERRY CAKES

I thank Dynnamae n for sending us pictures of Grandmother Olive's Raspberry Cake Recipe we had on last week.  Dynnamae n also decided to make the same recipe with blueberries.  She used a 9 inch square pan instead of the 9 x 13 that Grandmother used. Dynnamae n also lined her pans with parchment paper.   She baked the cake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes instead of using 375. When done, the cake was 1.5 inches deep.   Her drizzle was lemon flavored as it goes well with berries.  Dynnamae n says this recipe is a keeper.

When baking any of Jean's or Grandmother Olive's or Anna's recipes, if you could snap a picture or two to send to us, I would be glad to put them on here.  It would let others know what the recipe looks like.  If you send pictures and don't want your name on here, let me know and I will not put it on.  My e-mail is lincolnlady1121@yahoo.com

  2. Good morning, Marilyn. Those look great! I tried the raspberry, but you definitely don't want pictures. LOL I waited too long to put the raspberries on and they just sat on the top, like tiny little sad blobs. I think my oven was too hot. I am going to the farmer's market again this Saturday, so I will give it one more try.

Oh - I gave the nice lady a pretty card with a nice note and a lavender scented sachet, just a small one, not room scenting size and she was pleased. Thanks Anna!

  11. Hi Folks,
We are suppose to have a rain storm. They are talking of possible flooding. I am mostly out of the flood zone. They have said ran was coming, but it hasn't get. But just in case we get a bad storm, I will be shutting down the computer and obviously won't be on here. So if you I don't answer you right away, you will know why.

  12. Good morning Marilyn. I wish my photos looked as good as those cakes tasted. The blueberry one went to a family reunion and was well received. I may even use both berries together when I make it again. As much as I love eating fresh raspberries, I think I liked the blueberry cake more than the raspberry. The sun peeks out for a bit and then we have a shower. It has been doing that the past couple hours and looks like it will continue. Hope you don't get severe weather.
