GRANDMOTHER OLIVE'S RASPBERRY CAKE RECIPE

As Marilyn is trying to catch up in setting up the posts for this week, I am looking up recipes.  Told Grandmother Olive I was looking for a fruit or vegetable recipe.  Now you have to understand that all Grandmother's recipes are cataloged according to fruit, vegetable, pastry, casseroles, etc.  So she pulled this one out and gave it to me.  Thank you Grandmother Olive for this recipe.  Jean

GRANDMOTHER OLIVE'S RASPBERRY CAKE RECIPe

2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup butter
1 cup milk
1 pint raspberries
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 cup sugar (granulated)
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon melted butter
3 Tablespoon cream

Cake: Cream butter and granulated sugar together.  Stir in egg and vanilla.  Stir dry ingredients together.  Add dry ingredients and milk to mixture, alternating as you stir.  Pour into greased 9x13" pan.  Cover with fresh raspberries.  Bake at 375 degrees 20 - 25 minutes.  Cook 5 - 10 minutes and drizzle.

Drizzle: Mix 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 Tablespoon butter and 3 Tablespoon cream until runny.  Extra cream may be needed.
