Mom has been busy so I am taking over the computer this today. Someone asked what kind of an out fit I would have worn at the Pirates Weekend Doggie Parade. Well the picture is of my costume. The picture dates back to Pirates Weekend three years ago. I would have worn the same costume, I wore before. As you can see, I am not thrilled wearing that.
Mom decided that being in the 90's, it was too hot to dress me up or enter in the Doggie Parade. That was fine with me. So we stayed home with the air conditioning on.
Also, Mom is walking another dog. Her name is Bella. Mom walks here at 8:00 in the morning and 8:00 at night. She is a couple years older than me. I get a bit jealous because she is walking another dog. But Bella is real nice. She gets along with dogs, cats, people - even children. Mom is going to try to get a picture of Bella for on here. Bella's Dad pays my Mom to walk her, so it helps with bills and gives us some extras.
I thought I was going to lose my friend Cooper. He and his Mom moved in a few years ago. We use to walk together and play together. When in our apartments our sliding glass door was across from their sliding glass door so Cooper and I would stare across at each other. Our Mom's said we were planning the great escape.
Well Cooper's Mom had cancer and passed away. Cooper's human brother had been allowed to stay and take care of Cooper and his Mom. When his Mom passed, he was given a couple of months to move as at our apartments you have to be over 60 or handicapped, He wasn't either of those.
He thought of taking Cooper with him, but just graduating college and getting a new job, he wouldn't be able to take care of Cooper like he should. He thought of taking Cooper back to Lollipop Farm, where his Mom had gotten him from. Lollipop Farm is like the SPCA.
Poor Cooper hadn't been groomed in months, so a collection was taken to get him groomed. He went to my dog groomers and came back looking like a new dog.
Over in the apartment building across the street was a man looking for just the right dog. He had been to Lollipop Farm, Humane Society of Wayne County and more places. Just couldn't find the right dog for him. He said he would know the right dog when he saw it. Tina, my girlfriend's Mom, asked him if he would be interested in Copper. She explained what a good boy he was. The man went to see Copper and decided he would try him for a couple of days.
After the first night, Tina didn't hear anything and worried. The next day she say Cooper's new owner coming home from Country Max with new dishes, leashes, collars, toys and I don't know what all for Copper. Owner told Tina that Copper was the perfect dog for him. They hit it off. So Copper, like me, has a third owner. We are so happy he has a home. Also, we still get to see each other and play.
Mom has an appointment on Tuesday with the vet for me. I am being examined to get that lump removed from my side. We don't know when the vet will remove it - Mom is hoping on Thursday. I am scared, but Mom said I will be asleep and not know a thing. I think she is worried too, but won't tell me. She remembers when her previous dog, Rickie, had cancer and I think she worries I might have it to. Won't know until it is removed, but the doctor doesn't think it is cancer. Mom waited so long as she had to get the dog charge card down so she could put this on it.
I don't want to go, but Mom says it is better to be safe than sorry. So I guess she is right.
That's all I have to tell now. Mom or I will tell you when the operation will be, for sure. I am sure I will want to tell you about the operation when it's all over.
Love,
Pierre
P.S.
I forgot to tell you that Mom ordered me a Comfurt Collar last night. After surgery, I would have to wear that plastic thing over my head. Comfurt Collar is soft and goes around my neck so I don't have to wear that plastic thing and yet I still won't be able to lick my wound. We just got notice they mailed it today.
Hi Marilyn, Hope all will go well for Pierre with the surgery and recovery. Hoping it is only a lipoma(fatty tumor). Blessings, Carol
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy story for Cooper. I am glad you still get to see him Pierre. It is best to get that lump removed. You are very brave.
ReplyDeleteIt's too hot for costumes this summer.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Carol,
ReplyDeleteI hope it is a fatty tumor, too and that's it. Never had surgery on Pierre since I had home, so I hope all goes well, too.
Blessings to you and yours,
Marilyn
Good Morning Vickie,
ReplyDeleteI am glad my friend Copper got a good home, too. He deserves it. Thank you for thinking I am brave.
Hugs to Mable, Henry and Murphy,
Pierre
Good Morning Tom,
ReplyDeleteI agree - with humans and animals, both.
Marilyn
Hi Pierre: I'm Katrina. I'm a cat. I don't do walks but I've touched and sniffed snow. They don't take us out like they do dogs. Cats are supposed to go out by themselves here but my mom won't let me. She says there are too many coyotes and owls and, sometimes, cougars. That's okay with me. My house is big and there are stairs to race up and down at 3 in the morning when I get the crazies. You'll be okay, little friend. I like dogs and you look to be about the right size for me. You can see me at my mom's blog, Prairie Cottage Corner. Tell Cooper he's a lucky dog! Wow! You and me, too. I was headed for the SPCA when my mom found me. We're so lucky. And our moms (and Cooper's dad) will take such good care of us. No worries, mate. Regards, Katrina
ReplyDeleteHi Katrina,
ReplyDeleteI like kitties. Whenever I met one, I like to sniff them and play with them. Will never hurt a cat or kitten. I like to be their friend. My Mom doesn't walk me to late at night because we don't know what is in the woods behind our house. We have had wolves, owls and who knows what. Mom and I saw your Mom's blog. That reminds my Mom that she has lots of pictures of quilts to put on here. Some are from the Bed and Breakfast we had on. Some are from the fair. What does Mom have to do so she can follow your Mom's blog? So glad your Mom got you, too. I will give Cooper your message. Us older cats and dogs make good pets, too. We just needed the chance. Happy all three of us got it.
Regards to you, too,
Pierre
