JEAN'S ORANGE-GLAZED BEETS

JEAN'S ORANGE-GLAZED BEETS

1/4 c. honey
1/2 to 1 tsp shredded orange peel or rind
1/4 c. orange juice
1/4 c. lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1 (16 oz ) can (2 c) julienne-style beets, well-drained

In a small bowl, combine honey, orange peel, orange juice, lemon juice and salt.  Add drained beets; mix gently.  Refrigerate overnight; turn occasionally.  Drain.  Serve as a relish.  Return any remaining beets to liquid, and keep.

It's been awhile since I've had beets. Orange juice in the mix is a new idea.

Hi William,
I eat a lot of beets, but orange juice sounds different to me. Jean said she will make some up so I can have a jar of them to taste.
