LOOK WHAT I SAW WALKING PIERRE THIS MORNING !!!

I took Pierre for his morning walk and I saw something crossing the street ahead.  There is a couple down the street that has a set of Irish Setters that sometimes get out and at a glance that's what I thought they were.  When I looked again, I realized that they weren't dogs, but deer.  I got Pierre inside and grabbed the camera.  I know there are deer around, but I haven't seen them in the eight years I lived here - until today.

  2. Such beautiful creatures. We see them fairly often around here. The dogs have never seen them though. What did Pierre think?

  3. Good Morning Vickie,

I don't think Pierre saw them I got him inside to fast. If he had seen them, he would have barked and sent them running. In the apartment I use to live in, I saw deer often because the place I lived and another house were between to tree covered hills so the deer would run back and forth. That was before I had New York State of Mind or a camera.

  4. Good Morning Marilyn. What a gift to see and enjoy this first day of summer. I live in the little finger of Michigan. I drive to work in the dark and have been seeing too many deer this spring. I thank God that they have all stayed out of my way and I can enjoy seeing them. I have been seeing them in our hay fields also. I am sure they have their babies hiding in that hay. I hope you and Pierre have a blessed weekend.

  5. I miss seeing the deer on a regular basis, when I lived in Northern PA, they were everywhere. The deer here in the Midwest are moving further west of us, too much construction.

  6. Good Morning Dynna,
They sure were a gift to see on the first day of summer, I forgot about that. I have seen deer along side the highway after being hit here. Hope God protects you from hitting them, too. Pierre and I hope you have a blessed weekend, too.

  7. Good Morning ga447,

It's sad they are moving in your area. I guess construction will do it. I didn't think they would be this close to the village, but they were this morning.

  12. Hi Carol,
No problem. I do that myself and can't figure out how I do it.

  13. Lovely pictures...not excluding the green, green grass and trees!! Beautiful! I'm still curious about the type of Old Order Mennonites that Jean's family is. Are they of the Groffdale Conference? Thanks!

  14. Wow, what a pretty area you live in, Marilyn! So very green! What a nice treat to be able to watch the deer like that! I rarely see anything but birds! :)

  15. Hi Lois,

Glad you liked the pictures. I asked Jean about what type Old Order Mennonites group that she was. It's up to her if she wants to answer it or not.

  16. Hi Willow's Quiet Corner,

This is the first time I have seen them since I lived in these apartments. I was so surprised. Usually here, all we see are birds, too. Maybe I should get up earlier in the morning and I would see more deer.

So glad you liked the pictures.

  17. Hi Folks,
I just came back from another place where I took pictures of all kinds of animals. It will take me a while to get them all on. I think I will start with a post or two and put the rest on every once in a while. I have 164 pictures, so I have to sort through them.

  18. Even though the deer eat my landscaping it's still fascinating to see them. I always think of how strange it is to have such large animals still be wild in the area.

What a beautiful day it is today.

  19. Hi Doreen,
I agree with Doreen. Deer munch in the gardens, but this is the first I saw one around here.

It's a beautiful day here, too.
