PIRATE WEEKEND - DOG PARADE

This is the Dog Parade they had during Pirate Weekend.  A friend of mine took the pictures for me as Pierre and I were in the parade.  You can see Pierre and myself in picture four and Pierre in picture five.  Pierre is wearing his Pirate's jacket.  We didn't win anything in the parade, but we had a good time.

GOATS

Pictures are of goats that I saw on a Mennonite Farm.  Am seeing more of these on farms that I use to.

I WON A CONTEST AT THE LIBRARY !!!

I didn't think I would be putting the Palmyra Community Library on two days in a row, but again, I didn't think I was going to win one of their contests, either.  They had five different baskets you could win.  The first picture shows the form you had to make out for every book you read.  Once you complete the form, you could put it in the container next to the basket you wanted.

Now, I don't know if you know, I love to read.  I read 4 - sometimes 5 books a week - contest or no contest.  I guess I read more than that in the winter than I do the other seasons, but I read all year around.  So I had several entry forms and put them on my three favorite baskets - but still I didn't think I would win.  There were LOTS of entrants.

The children were not forgotten either.  There were also five baskets that they fill out forms for the books they read and put them in their baskets container.

I had to go out and I was shocked when I got a message on my answering machine that I won one of the contest baskets.  Went right down to the library and picked it up.  I was thrilled when I saw what I won !! The rest of the pictures show what I won.

I will be writing a thank you note to the library.

PIRATE WEEKEND - PAINTINGS

Pirate Weekend has a paint show the week before it opens.  Anyone, any age can paint a picture.  They are supplied with the paint and the paper.  Most of the pictures were done by some of our local children.  Thought you might enjoy them.

My Irish got up on this a little bit.  When I was a child, we use to paint directly on the store windows with removable paint.  Then, they went went to painting like these and the pictures were hung in the store windows.  Well, this year store owners didn't want these pictures in their windows. You think they would to draw in customers.  Thank heavens, the Palmyra Community Library came through and hung these pictures in the library.
