JEAN IS COMING !!!!

Since Richard is changing Amish Stories and Jean needed a place to go, she will be coming to New York State of Mind-thanks to Richard. Jean said she would only go a place of Richard or myself. If you have read Amish Stories, you know that I didn't have any idea how to get a blog. Thank you Richard for founding New York State of Mind for me. I never could have done without you. You still will be hearing from me when I run into problems or don't know how to do something. In case you don't who Jean is-Jean is Old Order Mennonite and lives in the Finger Lakes Area of New York State. She, her husband and family own a Dairy Farm. Their main form of transportation is a horse and buggy. Jean tells of happenings in their way of life. She also will answer questions, in her posts, that she receives through comments on New York State of Mind. Jean does not own a computer. She gives her posts to me over the telephone and I will put them on New York State of Mind like we did for Amish Stories. As everyone is use to her posts on Monday morning, her posts will be on Monday, here. We will also be putting on her recipes, too. As Richard will be having Jean's last post on Amish Stories on Deember 17th, Jean will have sort of a post of introduction later that week on New York State of Mind-we haven't set the date yet. With Christmas and New Years coming, the starting of her regular posts will be, Monday, January 7th. We hope everyone will come and join us. We wish Richard, the best on his new Amish Stories venture and we look forward to continuing to be regulars. Thank you Richard, for allowing us to have Jean here. I knew about this since September, but as Richard requested, I didn't tell anyone. See I can keep Secrets !!!!!!!! Marilyn

Yes you can keep a secret Marilyn so don’t tell anyone that I've also won the lottery, lol.

I wish right! I'm glad that Jean will still be giving you her story so others can learn about her old order Mennonite lifestyle, and I'm really proud to have had the opportunity to publish and start Jean on my blog for all that time.

And its great that at least for now Jean still has the desire to share part of her life on the Internet with the readers, and after Dec 17 I will become one of those readers.

You know that I will be here to help with any questions that you may have regarding your blog, and who knows if you let me I may even give you one of my own favorite recipes to post if you wish on "New York State of Mind".

I think those readers who have followed Jeans post's and who have enjoyed them are very lucky to have you willing to publish them, and remember folks nothing lasts forever so all I can say is to enjoy all of them and ask questions so Jean can make her next post that much better.

This really is the last stop for Jean since she does not want to be part of another blog other than what was my own and now Marilyn's, and when she sees that folks are no longer posting comments for her it may help her lose the drive to even bother giving Marilyn her story to publish.

Just a little hint everyone because I know how much she really enjoys hearing from everyone on her posts. Richard

Welcome everyone. Thank you Richard for everything you have done and willing to do so much. Glad you will be reading here. I will be reading Amish Stories, as always.

I don't know how to connect here. Richard did it for me. If you are on Richard, Can you help???

Meredith, I do have dresses to put on for sale, but I am having problems with the pictures. They are long dresses and I can't find a place to put them to get good pictures. The light is bad in the halls here. Bathroom doesn't get the full dress-but that may be where I end taking the pictures. I also have kapps to go with them, which I will put on with the dresses. I will try to get them on this week.

Sure Marilyn I will try to help here, Meredith on Marilyn's blog go to the right side and on the top you will see an image of Family Life.

As the heading on the top says "just click on that Image" and you will automatically be taken to Marilyn's eBay store. Hope this helps. Richard

I know I've already "said it" but I'm wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving on this special day of thanks and being with the ones we love.

And regarding my own blog I'm looking forward to the changes for next year and since I love taking pictures I will have lots to share, and as long as I still will have permission to post the classic ads look for me to still post them from time to time since I really love this feature.

The Amish will still be on my radar since I still enjoy seeing and talking with them, and they are all around me so its all very natural for them to be my main subjects.

I will only really shooting images of country life just like I've done before, so no city images for me on my blog. Enjoy Turkey day folks.............. Richard

Jean and I also wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Richard you are welcome here anytime if you have a post you want to put on, or whatever.

Hope you enjoy turkey day, too.

Pierre just gave me a start. Today is my birthday and I went over to a friends house for dinner, a cake and presents-one of which was candy. I brought the gifts home and decided to give a piece of cake to a couple of my neighbors. When I came back I saw foil wrap all over the floor. As I was picking it up it dawned on me that it was the foil around the candy. Pierre had eaten the candy-chocolate candy which is not good for dogs. I called my vet and she advised me to give him hydrogen peroxide and make him bring in up. I didn't have any so I had to run to the drug store and get it. I met a friend on the way who helped me. We put Pierre in the bath tub and gave him the peroxide and up it came-foil, candy and all. I don't think Pierre was to happy about it. It worked and that's what mattered. He seems to be all right now. I will keep an eye on him all evening. I will also be more carefull when I put candy from now on.
