CHANGES MAY BE COMING IN MY LIFE

There may be some changes in my life.  I have been volunteering at a place for the last two years.  I had been volunteering about an hour and a half a day, five days a week,  plus I do Meals on Wheels, a few times a month.  Recently my boss at the job I go to five days a week,  has been taken ill.  At this time we don't know if she will be able to return.  I hope so because I really enjoy working for her.

My bosses boss wants me to train for my bosses position in case she doesn't return.  If she does return, I would be able to continue there as a volunteer but could also fill in at other places if I was needed. If my boss could not return, I would get her position that would put me on a salary and I would have to give up volunteering for Meals on Wheels.  I have volunteered for Meals on Wheels for about 8 years.

Starting tomorrow, Monday, I will be going from volunteering an hour and a half to at least four hours a day-5 days a week.   This will continue until the end of the month.  At that time, we should know if my boss is coming back.  If she does, I go back to volunteering for a hour and a half. If she doesn't I take over her job on salary.

I don't think this will have any effect on New York State of Mind, but if it does, I want you to know why.  Jean and I are going to do posts ahead until I get use to my new hours.  I just want you to know if things aren't going like usually or I don't answer comments fast what is going on. Jean and her recipes should stay the same, but Friday posts might not be as often as they are now.  Then, again things may work so they do.

I haven't worked on a paying job in ten years and I'm not as young as I use to be, so we will have to see how things go. Of course the other lady that volunteers there said I've been working there now I may get paid for it.  I do like the volunteer job I have and I could use the salary.  So I just wanted you to know if things change-why.  I am truly going to try to keep New York State of Mind  as much as it is now as I can.

Marilyn that is really kind of you giving your time-so many important services would grind to a halt without volunteers like yourself

Sorry to hear about the Lady who is not well-you must be well thought of to be offered the position if she does not return

Hope you enjoy the extra hours this week-it will give you a chance to see how it would work out for you-take care

Good Morning Fionalina,
Thank you for being so understanding. I am sorry that she is sick, too. I really hope she gets better. I was surprised that they chose me. The next few weeks will see how I do and if I can do it.

Good Morning Vickie,

Thank you for understanding. I hope things work out too. It's not a hard job, it's remembering everything. I am going to take a pad and pen with me so I can write things to down so I remember.

Hello Marilyn Thank you for sharing with us what is going on in your life. I have so much respect for those who volunteer. It sometimes may seem like it comes without gain or reward but you and I both know our reward is not in this life. I think you will do great at this job if it a part of Gods plan for your life. Just go and do your best without putting any extra pressure on yourself. Whatever is meant to be will be. I will be praying for you and keep us posted as to how your week is going. God Bless Veronica

Hello Veronica,
Your prayers are appreciated. I agree, that's all I can do is my best. I did pray before I told them I would try to see how it works out.

I enjoy your posts no matter how often you do them, this is an exciting change for you, we can all use a little extra money and sounds to me you must be well fitted for the position or they would never have asked you, you are such a kind hearted person, enjoy this new challenge and don't worry we will always be here for you,

I'll pray that everything turns out the way you want it. I don't think that you have to worry about anyone leaving. You blog more than most of the others that I follow, so I'm sure that we'll be here when ever you post if you get too busy.

What a beautiful Sunday!!

Marilyn - i don't think you give yourself enough credit. you took this blog after Richard made it and you made it fly. i am sorry i haven't been around much but we have a lot of stuff on the go - life, eh? i think that this opportunity is being offered to you because you deserve it and because they trust you. i think that you will thrive and i thank you for all of charitable works over the years. to be a charitable person is to be a true beauty in the eyes of our Lord.

i hope that your boss gets better. but i think you should embrace this opportunity with all of your heart. i just know that you will fly with it. you always do!

Hi Kymber,

Thank you so much for the compliments. I know how life stuff goes. You know you were talking about the eyes of the Lord and a nice thing happened to me today. I went to a church on business as the Pastor called and told me to come today or it would be Wednesday. It's not the church I attend. Anyway while I was there I was admiring some knitted items. She explained they were Prayer Shawls. She asked me if I prayed and when I told her yes-she gave me one. The most beautiful one there. I always wanted a Prayer Shawl, and now I have one. So maybe that is God's way of telling me everything will work out.

Even if you are able to post only once a week or so, due to your new responsibilities, I will certainly continue reading your blog, since it is so interesting, both the people and subjects mentioned.

Hi Kymber,
I will take a picture of shawl. It is real light color and I don't know how it will come out. Wish the sun were up outside it would look real well.
