THE WALLS COME A TUMBLING DOWN !!!

In May, I had a post on about the fire on Main Street in our town.  Well times are a changing.  Many of you remember my mentioning that Mark Crane, who owned Mark's Pizza that was a total loss in that fire, called two of his other stores to bring pizzas for the firemen and firewomen.  While the fire was burning a bunch of us were talking saying it would be nice if Mark bought the properties next to his restaurant and built something there.  I don't think Mark ever heard us - but he did purchase the buildings. These buildings were torn down  and Mark is going to build a Mark's Pizza Restaurant where you can go in to get take outs or go in and enjoy dinner with room for conventions, parties, receptions, etc.  Also, Mark, is building a little park where people can eat outside or just sit and enjoy the park.  Mark founded Mark's pizza in our town in 1982,  He wanted his new restaurant where his first restaurant was, but larger so he bought the buildings.  As of now, these should be cleared and the new restaurant up in three months. I thank Mark, so much, for doing this for our village.  I know Palmyra means a lot to you, Mark, being the founding home of your business and you mean a lot to us for saving the part of our village, lost in the fire.

Good Morning,
As you can see progress is coming. They got those buildings down fast. Can't wait until they get them cleared away and start building.

The weather is in the 70's today and sun it out.

Good Morning Marilyn and Pierre! It will only get into the 80's here today, HOORAY!
That is a great thing that Mark is doing for sure.

Good Morning Vickie, Mabel and Henry,
I am glad your tempature is coming down some. We are so glad that Mark is doing that for us. I often wondered if that was going to end up a big space, but not anymore. Will be dining there when he gets the restaurant up.

Pierre got a real red back paw. I am soaking him in epsom salts and giving him some medicine. He is also upset that I haven't had him put on a post in a while.

Hug to Mabel and Henry,
Pierre and Marilyn

Oh my gosh! If you ever wondered what Oxford Main St. looks like..just look at your town! SOO similar, with the buildings! I was looking and thinking....this is here! We don't live in Oxford, proper..outside in the corn fields!! LOL!! But..your town and my town could be twins!
Must be something with pizzas and fires..we had a fire too..gosh..20 yrs ago..and it was a pizza place..same type thing..family owned..and he bought the one building next to it...and expanded..and has been doing well since..so I have high hopes for your place!!! Especially for eat-in...nice to be able to go somewhere pleasant to eat....instead of always take out....what a great little town!!!
How did Pierre hurt his paw? On the hot pavement? Hope he is ok...

Hi Sue Ann,
I will be dog gone that your town and mine look alike. The fire started when a lady set it on fire, but Mark has bought the buildings and is going to have the restaurant. We have a few restaurants in town, but only one small one on main street. Mark's also delivers, too.

I don't know what is wrong with Pierre's paw. I had this problem last year. He went to the vet and she said to soak it and gave me some medicine that made his get sick to his stomach. It works on his paw, but makes him sick. You can't cut the pill or alike-it's capsule. It looks better today, but I will see how it is tomorrow and if not well, take him to the vet. I don't know if it is the side walk or what. It's only his back paws that get it and usually one at a time. It only happens in the summer - no other season.

Marilyn I am so excited to see that this is happening in Palmyra! We love Palmyra Canal Days and look forward to it every year. We will definitely make sure we patronize Mark's when we come to Palmyra as a way of saying "Thanks" for doing this!! Cathy in Webster, NY

Hi Cathy,
I am glad you like what is happening. They should be building the restaurant at Palmyra Canal Days Time because that is in September. I always favored Mark's when I ordered a pizza, I will more now. He deserves a "Thanks" for doing this. I hate to think of what would of happened if he hadn't done what he did.

I've been to the quilt museum in Palmyra. It's such a nice town, and really nice for Mark to expand his business.

Our spinning guild had a field trip to a members farm today. She has sheep, goats, llamas, chickens and ducks. We spent the afternoon spinning outside on her porch, and it was such a perfect day. It's also my mom's 97th birthday today. So my sister came to celebrate and stay with her so I could go to the guild meeting. When I got home we had a barbecue and cake.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Hi Doreen,
Happy Birthday to your Mother.

You have been in the Palmyra Quilt Museum !! How about that. I am going to get some pictures of it and do a post on it.

Glad you got to go with your guild.

I am glad Mark is expanding, too.
