OLD ORDER MENNONITE FARM AND BUGGYS

I remember taking these pictures because this is where the lady sent her dog out at me.  Always I stand along side of the road and never on anyone's property.  She was inside the house and saw me taking pictures so she sent her dog out.  It was a good size dog so I got in the car and drove off.

Here is one of the posts that I had from way back in my pictures that I mentioned before. I guess it's time I got them on. These pictures are from December.

I stop there for produce all the time. They have young children, and I would not appreciate someone taking pictures of my home, with so many strange people in this world. We have to think how we would like it if others took pictures of us, and wonder what they are doing with them... I would tend to call 911, not send the dog out! Always ask before taking pictures.

Anonymous, next time you stop by to buy produce there, (although I am not an attorney) you might want to mention that had the dog bitten Marilyn the dog and the lady would probably be in serious legal trouble. Also, taking pictures of a house is not illegal and thereby a call to 911 is unwarranted and may be illegal because 911 is for emergencies only, not for discussing irrational fears.

I have to say, Gary, calling 911 is for emergencies...but as to fears,,,we live in the country, nothing around us but fields as far as the eye can see..and there was a man walking thru the hay fields a few years ago...dressed weird for the weather, and looked to be drinking, and zig zagging across the way, so I called 911 to report a strange man..and they came right away.....so..even if the lady was concerned, she could, by rights, call 911.....there was a car that stopped in our drive last year, and was taking pics, and I almost got the plates, so I called 911......and they ran them down...was just someone out taking farm pics..so, you never know...could be a problem, could be innocent, that is why 911 is there..to help us figure it out.... But true, Marilyn, if you are that close to a home, you should maybe see if they are home, and ask....just to be safe, for yourself.....could have been a house that had a buggy for show...and a nut lived there.....be careful....

If I see someone around, I always ask before I take pictures. I was down the road when I took pictures of the house and farm. When I was on the edge of the driveway taking pictures of the buggys is when she sent the dog out. Usually, if I can, I take pictures from the car. This is the only time I had any problems when I was taking pictures. It is legal to take pictures of peoples residents and property as long as you are not standing on their property. I have been more carefull since she sent the dog out. I am not angry that she sent the dog our - she scared me that's all.

Legal or not for your own safety and peoples feelings and privacy, you should ask first, you wouldn't put up a picture of Jean's or Martha's home without asking, the same should apply to everyone

This will also prevent being criticised on here

If that dog would have bitten you Marilyn you could have sued her since your were not on her property, and to be honest Im just glad that I dont have to worry about that stuff since I dont take house images very much.

With the hassles that we sometimes come across when having a blog and taking images to share can make you wonder if its all worth it!
