Good Morning Marilyn and Pierre! I see a sign that says POSTED and the house does not look like someone would live in it. Is it just a very old home on his property?
Good Morning Vickie, Mabel and Henry,Yes ,it is an old vacant home on his property. He finally got around to mowing the lawn.Marilyn
I love the picture of the house. When ever I see an abandoned house with such character, I can visualize how great it would look if it was restored. When you click on the picture to make it big you can see the wonderful work around the door, and it looks like there might be posts in the corners. Also a side porch. Thanks for the pictures,Doreen
Hello Doreen,Maybe they are going to restore it. Next time I am in the neighborhood, I will have to take a run by it again and see if anyone is working on it.Marilyn
We just for a new assistant maintance man here. He is a young fellow. We can not ask them to remove our air conditioners on company time as it is not part of their job according to our manager. Cold air was leaking in all around my air conditioner. Well our new man came over this afternoon and took my air conditioner out, but it in my closet for me and put all the stuff back on that closes off the hole that the air conditioner was in. I tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take any money for it. He is a nice guy.Marilyn
I love pictures of old houses and barns. Whenever I see one, I take a picture. This is a pretty picturejodie
Hi Jodie,Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed the pictures.Marilyn
Kindness begets kindness....your openness to help others, pays you back...He could almost bale that grass!!! Use it for bedding...! Grass rots tho...but it would be great if it could be done.....make great mulch!
I thought it would take me a long time to find out who made the steel wheels for the riding mower in these pictures. All it took was one call. Kevin, Martha and Joseph's son, made them. A friend of Kevin's bought the mower and brought it to Kevin telling him he wanted fancy steel wheels on it. That's what he got. I am trying to talk Kevin into letting me come when he has to make these again for someone and let me take pictures. He is thinking about it. He doesn't think these are a big deal and wonders why anyone would want pictures of making them.Marilyn
I was so interested in the house that I didn't notice the wheels. They really are fancy, and what a coincidence that Kevin made them. Doreen
Hi Marilyn- Tell Kevin the only time any of us sees smith making, is at festivals or re-enactments....it is a dead art for us englishers......the nearest we have any more are for horses(shoes), and very few of them are left around here....my friends have Amish come from up state Ohio to get shoes done.
Hi Doreen,I didn't notice the wheels until someone mentioned them on yesterdaytractors. They are another blog that I told about the mowing lawn on here. Some of the people from over there came here and noticed the wheels. I couldn't believe that when I called Jean, she said only one person could have made those and that was Kevin. When I called Kevin he went to the library to see the pictures and called me back to tell me he made them.Marilyn
Hi Sue Ann,I will tell Kevin what you said. Like I told him, some of things he does every day are interesting to us. They may be common things to them, but things we Englishers don't see. Those wheels being one of them. Marilyn
