Very compelling, aren't they? A mark of history, I think. these look very well kept. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Well Marilyn, we have 6 inches of snow and still coming down. It spoils some of our plans this week end. But as they say, better safe than sorry.

Good Morning Annie,
I agree with you, they are a mark of history. They are all well kept which kind of surprised me. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, too.

Good Morning Jodie,

I like to go walk through cemeteries and read the stones, too.

We got a little snow here, but I guess it is really coming starting Sunday. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Cemeteries are so quiet and serene. I love looking at the very old markers too. Are any of these Amish or Mennonite? Do Amish or Mennonites bury their family in public cemeteries, and do they use head stones? Maybe Jean or Elmer could do a post about how they deal with family who pass away. I remember the subject coming up regarding the clothes that the deceased are dressed in, but I don't remember if anything was said about the funeral or burial.

Good Morning Doreen,
The last three pictures are of a Weaverland cemetery. The two pictures before that are of my town's cemetery. The rest I don't know if they are Amish, Mennonite or English. I think the top three may be Mennonite, but I am not sure, I will have to ask Jean or Elmer because it was in their area. I will give them your questions.

Oh, my gosh !!! Jodie that is terrible. You take care of yourself. I bet everything will be closing down with all that snow. Keep in touch. I bet it's heading my way.

Tomorrow I am going to have a post on - a little bit of this and that. Part will be of the Christmas Recipes starting a day earlier than I said it would. Also, I found out what punishment the men got that killed those dogs earlier this year. By tomorrow I might think of something else to add, too.
