JEAN'S CUT OUT COOKIES

JEAN'S CUT OUT COOKIES

1 cup shortening
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar
4 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon soda

Cut shortening into flour as in pastry and add salt.  Combine eggs and sugar and beat well.  Combine milk, vanilla and soda.  Add alternately with flour to eggs and mix well.  Roll out 1/4" thick and cut with fancy cutters.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.  Cool, frost and decorate.

Good Morning Everyone,
Enjoy this recipe today. It is warming up. Suppose to be in the 50's tomorrow then back down. Raining today, but I want to see if I can get out and get some pictures.

Cut out cookies are definitely my favorite cookies for christmas. This rainy day is the perfect time for cooking. We have flood warnings posted all day for my area.

You made poodles !!!! I would love to see them. Poodle cookies, I don't know if I would be able to eat those guys.

Glad you like St. Joseph.

The fog is setting in and it is terrible driving on those roads. I went the hospital to visit a friend, but I didn't go out to get pictures. The roads are just too bad.
