ANNA'S KEY LIME PIE RECIPE

Seeing we are in Florida, I thought I would have Anna put on a southern recipe.  As Key Lime Pie is a favorite down here and back home, she gave me her recipe to put on.  Elmer

ANNA'S KEY LIME PIE
9 inch graham cracker crust
3 egg yolks
1 (15 ounces) can sweetened condensed milk
Grated rind of 1 lime
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup heavy cream, whipped and sweetened to taste (Anna sometimes uses Cool Whip)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Whisk egg yolks, condensed milk, rind and juice together until smooth.  Pour into pie crust.  Bake for 7 to 8 minutes.  Cool on wire rack for 15 minutes, then refrigerate until cold, at least 2 hours.  Spread top with whipped cream and serve.  Serves 8

NOTE: Key lime pie is NOT suppose to be green.

Good Morning Everyone,

Hmmmm !!! I love Key Lime Pie. It is delicious.

Right now we are waiting for a snow storm that is suppose to leave us 12 to 25 inches of snow. Where I work is closed today. As yet, we don't have any snow, but I guess it is coming. We had this happen once where all the schools and everything closed and nothing happened. Hope it happens that way today, but I doubt it will,

Oh wow, that is a lot of snow. Hope it passes you by.
Yesterday was beautiful here. I hung my sheets on the line and hand washed the car and truck.
Today it is cold, windy and expecting snow.
Stay warm

Hi Jody,

It was beautiful here yesterday, too. Right now the snow is coming down terrible. I can hardly see the building across the street.

You stay warm, too,
Marilyn

Stay safe and warm,

Good Morning Janice,

I will see that Jean gets your compliments. Your donuts sure sound delicious. Thank you for my compliments, too. I am not going too far today in this bad weather. Instead I will do inside chores like laundry. Hope you don't get it too bad, either.

Have a nice day,
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, Thank Anna for the recipe. From what I've heard+seen the western part of NYS into CNY is to really get hit but good. We're 1hr north of Albany+our "mess" began@7AM. Should end late tomorrow morning. Weather forecasts aren't done very well in this area. We've been spoiled by Dave Eicorn+the meteorologists in CNY. Big difference! No car today,so I certainly won't be going anywhere. Dear Lord, please keep all safe as we're in yet another storm. Blessings, Carol

Hi Carol,
I will thank Anna for the recipe. Also, I thank you for your prayer, we need it right now. Sounds like you are getting hit as bad as we are. Ours isn't suppose to end until sometime tomorrow, too. The snow is bad enough, but the wind is the worse part.

Blessings to you and yours,
Marilyn

I am putting comments on twice. I don't know how I am doing that. Anyone I took one off.

I love Key Lime Pie but never knew how to make it. This recipe sounds really easy. I'll look for limes next time I'm at the grocery store, but I'm not sure if we always have them or just when they're in season.

Hi Doreen,

If you make the Key Lime Pie take a picture of it for us. I don't know if limes are out all year round or just in season, either.

How's the weather over your way?

Buffalo is in a state of emergency right now, but where I am, about 10 miles south, it's really not too bad. Just light snow right now but windy. I think other areas are getting hit much harder than us. I hope it just passes through and tomorrow is a better day.

It's really bad right here. I can't walk Pierre outside because the snow is so deep. I cleared off my little slab so he can go. The snow is coming down so bad I can't see the building across the street and it is windy. Hope tomorrow is a better day, too.

we got only an inch..but a few hours before it hit us, then you, we had pouring rain...a drop in temp of 50 degrees, then all the rain became ice for the 7 AM people going to work and school....THEN we had 60 mph winds all day, with sleet....so..I dunno...I think I will trade my ice for your snow!!! Stay warm! Safe!
Limes are usually around all year..they come in from all over..they are cheaper right now, until about early April...ours always seem to come from Peru.

I was "anon"! clicked the wrong button!

Hi SueAnn,

We had wind up to 50 miles an hour here with the snow. It is slowly clearing this morning. The wind is still out, but not as bad as yesterday and the snow is easing. Hope they close where I work today, because there is no way I can get my car out until Sam upstairs gets up and helps me dig it out.

Hello Melissa,

What a snow mess we had. Sam, the fellow upstairs got my car out for me. Key Lime pie is one of my favorites, too. Hope you enjoy the recipe.
