JEAN'S SALMON LOAF RECIPE

JEAN'S SALMON LOAF RECIPE

1 egg
1/2 onion, chopped
1 cup milk
20-25 crushed saltine crackers
1 can salmon (bones removed)

Beat egg.  After egg is beaten add onion, milk and crackers.  Then add salmon.    Pour into buttered baking dish.  Bake at 375 degrees for 25-40 minutes depending on how deep the baking dish is.

Marilyn was looking for a salmon recipe that is easy to make.  I thought everyone might enjoy this.

Jean

P.S.
Marilyn asked if you can use Salmon Fillets instead of canned and yes you can.  If it is frozen, take it out and defrost what you need. Then just proceed with the recipe.

How big is the can of salmon? I'm just wondering how much salmon to buy if I use fillets instead of canned. I have some frozen trout in the freezer. Do you think that I can use that instead of salmon?

Good Morning Doreen,

I called Jean. According to Jean a can Salmon can is about the size of a tuna fish can. Before I knew Jean was going to give me this recipe I bought some frozen salmon fillets. Jean said you can use trout instead of salmon. Also, Jean said this would be a nice recipe during fishing season because you can use almost any kind of fish in it.
