PICTURES INSIDE AMISH BARN, HOME AND BASEMENT

I got the interior pictures a long time ago from a Real Estate advertisement for a piece of property for sale.  The rules were I could not put them on until the property was sold and I was not to tell the location of the property.  So I held them umtil the real estate was sold.  Some of the house and barn exteriors are mine.  The interior pictures of the barn, house and basement are theirs.  Hope you enjoy the interior pictures.  Now I have a real Amish stove picture to use on the top of some of the posts.

There is a funny place between Elmer and I regarding this house.  I took Elmer out to an address that wanted Elmer to do some work on the outside of their house.  We thought the address of this house was it.  Elmer went inside while Anna and I stayed in the car chatting.  About a half hour later Elmer comes out and I asked him if he had all the business taken care of.  Elmer said no - this is the wrong house. My question was what was he doing in there for a half hour if it was the wrong house.  Oh, we were just talking, Elmer said.  The correct house is the one next door on the corner.  So we went to the correct house and Anna went in with him that time.

The basement looks a bit messy for a Amish place. Looks like ours. Tom The Backroads Traveller

Good Morning Tom,
The whole place looks like a mess for an Amish house. They may have been packing to move.

Good Morning Carol,
Isn't that true. It was kind of funny though. Elmer found out why the house was up for sale before it was put for sale, where they moving, why they were moving and more. Since he has been working on a house down the road he found out who bought the house, why, and how much they paid for it.

Hope you have a great weekend, too,
Marilyn

Elmer must be full of surprises whenever you're with him. What a funny story.

It's interesting that they don't have built in cupboards. Is that typical of an Amish house?

Good Morning Doreen,
Yes, Elmer is full of surprises when he's with me.

I will ask Anna. I know Anna's cupboards in her kitchen are all built in. They were that way in their old house and in their new one.

Now Anna is Old Order Amish and the people that owned this house are Swiss German Amish. I don't know if that makes any difference or not.

One of these pictures has really gotten Grandmother Olive upset - so we will finally be getting a post from her in the next few weeks. I don't think I have to tell you what picture it is.

When the man came in the milk truck today, he showed Jean our blog on his computer. Jean saw that picture and had Grandmother Olive come and see it. When Grandmother saw it, she got upset, as I said.

So we can look forward to a post from Grandmother Olive.

Grandma Olive wants to be on next Friday, Halloween. So that is the day she will be on. To her, it is another way of proving to Michael that Halloween is just like every other day. Grandmother gets what she wants on New York State of Mind.
