MEET BEAUTY

This is Beauty.  The first picture I took out of the wind shield of my car. I had pulled into a barn sale and there she was.  After I went to the barn sale, I asked if I could take pictures of the horse and the lady that owned her agreed.  Her name was Betsy when she got, but she kept calling her beauty, so she had the horses name changed to Beauty.  She is Englisher owned, but I thought you would enjoy seeing her.   She really is a Beauty.

MARILYN HAS SOMETHING TO SAY AND ELMER DOES, TOO

Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you so very much for all your donations and prayers..  I still can't believe that you are so kind to give me so much for my car repairs.   They are so greatly appreciated, more than you know.  I also thank Elmer and Michael for doing what I told them not to do.  Thank you seems, so small.  I have been thanking and Praising the Lord.

This all started when the fule pump went on the car.  The garage man and I were talking about the car getting repaired.  It is 18 years old and I didn't have the money.  Elmer, hearing about my car, said I should ask on New York State of Mind to which I said I couldn't do that.   The garage man and I got to a point we were even talking about junking the car. But looking at the price of used cars today, I had to save this car. Of course working on the car, they ran into other problems do to the cars age. Bill came to over $1,000.00. A friend of mine and her husband loaned me $500.00 to get the repaired car back from the garage, but I still own the garage $500.00 more.  The garage man told me my car needed a new tie rod, which he hadn't put on because he didn't want to run up the bill.

When the starter went, that really got me upset.  Back to the garage.  I also asked when the tie rod would go and garage man said it could last for a while - it could go tomorrow, so I had a new one put on.  Bill for everything, this time, over $600.00 and he wants $300.00 before I can have the car.

From the start with the first car problems, I am praying asking the Lord what to do.  How was I going to pay the bill much less get the car out.  Elmer said to ask on New York State of Mind.  I said no.  You gave so much when Jean asked for gas money last year, which by the way I still have some of, and I couldn't ask again.

Elmer and I went back and forth.  Elmer said to put it in the Lord's hands.  I said I had.  He said no I hadn't or I would put in on New York State of Mind.  To make a long story short, we went around on this.  I know we have messages back and forth.  You come and see our posts, but you don't know me.  We haven't all met in person.    We feel like family and we've know each other but still ....  I came up with all sorts.  Elmer kept telling me trust.  If God wants me to have the money He will give it to me,, if He doesn't He won't, but I have to ask first and trust.  I would get a blessing and the people that gave would get blessings.  Still I said no.

My panic attack got so bad, I thought I would have to go to the hospital.  I called Jean and asked her if I could tell Michael how to get to New York State of Mind if I went in the hospital so you would know I wouldn't be putting posts on.  After checking with Bishop Joseph, she said okay.  I gave it to Michael who promised never to use it except in emergency.  Michael is the only one in their family who it not baptized and knows how to use a computer.

I didn't go to the hospital, but some how Elmer found out Michael could get on here.  Elmer, Anna, Jean, David and Michael got together and decided to put on Elmer's Friday letter without telling me until it was on.  They checked with Bishop Eli and Bishop Joseph to make sure it was all right.  Elmer told Michael what to say and he put it on the computer.  Then Elmer called me up and told me to get on New York State of Mind and trust the Lord.  He hung up.  So that is how this all happened.

So again, I thank you all so much.  You are all in my prayers.  You are an answer to my prayers.

Blessings to you and yours,
Marilyn

ELMER

I also thank you all for your prayers and donations on Marilyn's car.  I told her trust and when she did the Lord came through all of you either prayer wise or financial wise or both.  When I found out Michael knew how to get on here, I considered Marilyn's problem an emergency.  As Marilyn said, you can see who we spoke to before we did it.

The total in Marilyn's Pay Pal is $384.00 which is over what I asked for.  Between the two bills for car repairs, the total is $1,600. to which she is paying both the garage and her friends she owes the money, too.  If, after praying, you would like to make a donation Marilyn's Pay Pal is mab112148@yahoo.com  Please do not give money that you need for your own needs, or would cut your short or you can not afford it.  Do not feel bad if you can not contribute, your prayers are more important than money.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

UPDATE NOON 6/29/15

Again both Marilyn and I thank you for prayers and financial help.  Of course, we thank and praise the Lord.

The garage said he will send her a bill this week showing the bills, what we paid and the balance.  But here is our records.  The balance she owned the garage was $1070.21.  When she went to get the car she paid $400.00 which if we figured right, should leave a balance of $670.21.  Someone sent a check which Marilyn deposited in her checking account until tomorrow.

So to make a long story short, we have a balance in  PayPal and the check for a total of $159.12.  When the bill comes, we are going to give it to Edward to make sure the garage calculations and our calculations are correct and match.  Edward does taxes and keeps books now along with the family farming.

Also Marilyn borrowed from a friend to get her car out of the garage the first time.  This too has to be paid back.

Also, Marilyn, checked with the garage on the 12 1/2 per cent interest.  It is not monthly as I previous said.  He said if he did that, no one would come to his service station.  It is 12 1/2 per cent interest per annum.  I do not keep the books at our house, Anna does.

So again, we thank you so very much and Praise the Lord.
Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

UPDATE: June 29 4:28 PM
First of all, I again want to thank you from my heart.  I really appreciate all your prayers and finances.  It has taken a load off my mind.  It is so kind of all of you. I thank and praise God for all He has given me.  Elmer said to leave my Pay Pal on in case others want to donate, but if they do, I think they can look on today's and Elmer's previous post to get it.  I don't want to ask too much.

I plan on putting on some yard sales and getting rid of some of the things in my apartment  There is so much in here I don't use and don't need.  What is the saying: One man's junk is another man's treasure.  That should bring in some money to pay the rest of the bills - if it ever stops raining on Saturday here.

Tomorrow will be a different post.  Wednesday is Jean's recipe.  Jean and I were trying to decide if it is one we had on before or not.  I am not sure if I will have something on every day as I don't have a lot of pictures.  Jean or Elmer or Anna will be on Friday.  They haven't decided which one, yet.  I will have something on Saturday for the 4th of July.

God Bless You,
Marilyn

ELMER HAS SOMETHING TO SAY

Marilyn's Panic Attack has to end.  She is to proud to ask for help on New York State of Mind, but I am not.  Our way is that we should help our neighbor when they need help.

As you know her car broke down and had to go into the garage and get a new fule pump, which do to the age of the car lead to having other things to be repaired.  She was without the car for about a month and had to borrow $500.00 from a friend before the garage man would let her have it.  Then the starter quit and the car also needed a new tie rod.  This has all been done.  Before she can get the car, the garage wants $300.00.

Marilyn can come with $100.00, but what she needs is the $200.00 and she has to have it by Thursday to get the car back or wait even longer as the garage man is going away on vacation.

I am asking if anyone would be willing to donate to the $200.00.  Please pray before you do this.  I don't want making anyone short of money this month.  I don't want anyone giving who can't afford it.  I don't want anyone donating that does not feel right after praying.  We are not asking you to pay the total bill of the car, just so she can get the car back.

The total for all the repairs on the car are $1,670.21.  She has borrowed $500.00 from a friend and owes the garage the rest.  Right now, she is making monthly payments to the garage for what she owes them and her friend for what she owes her.  Now you see the cause of the Panic Attack?

I am just asking for a donation toward the $200.00, if some of you folks could help.  If someone is wealthy or can afford the big amount, that would be great, but we don't expect it.  David, Jean, Anna and myself are donating toward the big amount.

Some people say cars are materialistic item - which they are, but we need them.  She uses the car not only to take pictures for New York State of Mind, but has taken us countless places in that car.  Also, she has taken people in her apartments to the doctor, grocery store, etc.  She needs to get to her doctor appointments, groceries, etc.  Now friends, will drive her sometimes, but there are time they can't.

I know last year Jean asked for money for gas and Marilyn has been conservative with that money.  She made it last and did not waste it.  Even used her own money rather than the money you sent because she felt she should pay for her gas when it was for herself and not NYSOM.

Marilyn lives on her Social Security.  She has no other form of income except what she sells on the computer.  Right now she is out looking for a part time job.  She has put her application in many places.

Marilyn is not asking for this.  David, Jean, Martha, Bishop Joseph, Bishop Eli, Anna and myself are.  She doesn't know it, but we are all donating for the total bill.

If you could donate any amount, it would be appreciated - no matter how big or how small.  You can send your donations to Pay Pal.  Yes, I know what Pay Pal is.  Her PayPal is mab112148@yahoo.com

Again, I do not want anyone running short or giving any money that they need.  Just pray first.  We would really like getting that $200.00 in by Thursday so she can have the car for the weekend.

Thank you.  You are in our prayers.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

P.S.
I just found out that the garage charges 12 1/2 per cent interest a month on the unpaid balance.
Elmer

UPDATE: June 27

Thought I would let you know how things are going.  So far we have received $185.00 toward the $200.00.  We thank everyone so much for the donations.  Those of you that said you could not donate, your prayers are more powerful than money and are greatly appreciated.  We do not want anyone to donate who can not afford, will cut them short or will take from their needs.

Also, we know that this is the end of the month and Fourth of July weekend is coming.  But, after praying, if you would like to donate Marilyn and myself would be very thankful.

I am leaving this on for my post on Monday.  If we do reach the $200.00, any other money we receive will go toward the rest of the car bill.

Again, we thank you all for your prayers and donations.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer and Marilyn

UPDATE: June 27 Noon

We have hit the $200.00 !!!!  We thank you all so much.  The total in Marilyn's Pay Pal is $234.00.  We thank you for one helping another.  Your prayers and money have put us over our goal.

Should anyone still wish to make a donation, the rest of the bill at the garage has to be paid, plus what she owe's her friend to get her car out the first time.  So if you feel the Lord is telling you to give, it will be put to good use regarding the car.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer and Marilyn

UPDATE: June 27 7:16 PM

This is my last post until Monday because I am taking the Lord's Day off.  The total in Marilyn's Pay Pal is $259.00.  Again, we thank everyone for your money and your prayers  The money is even more than we expected.

Marilyn's panic attack is going down.  She only had to take her nerve pill once today and did something she couldn't do for days - cry.  She would cry but the tears couldn't come - they came today.  So the tension is easing.  She has been thanking and praising God

All of the money is going to the garage.  Should you feel that the Lord wants you to make a donation, there is still a large amount of the bill to go.  Just as I said before - do not give if you can not afford it, do not give if it takes from your needs or will cut you short.  Just pray as prayers can be powerful when the Lord hears them.

Praise the Lord.
Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

WEAVERLAND MENNONITE FARM IN GORHAM, NEW YORK

These are pictures of a Weaverland Mennonite Farm that I took. Weaverland Mennonites drive cars as you can see in picture give.  I am running very low on Amish and Mennonite pictures do to my car.  If anyone has pictures they would like me to put on here, I would appreciate it.  Maybe next month I can rent a car for a few days if mine isn't fixed.

NOTE:
I'm not feeling well and think that this will be my last post for the week.  If I feel better, I will put one on.  Jean and David and Elmer and Anna think I should take a rest.  Both of them have offered to send a car over to pick me up and take me and Pierre to their house.  Maybe a rest would make me feel better.  I haven't said I would go yet.  But I am thinking about it.  Their county is on WiFi so I could take my computer.  May just stay home.  Hope you all understand.

ANNA - TELLS ABOUT PANIC ATTACKS

I thought I would come up and tell about Panic Attacks as Marilyn is having a bad one and my sister Hannah has had them several during her life.

Some Panic Attacks can be brought upon by a fear.  For example Hannah has a fear of heights especially bridges.  Whenever she gets near a high bridge especially if she has to cross it she gets a panic attack.  Some Panic Attacks just come because of a situation coming on.  For example, say you are not a speaker and you have to give a speech - this could cause a Panic Attack.  Some Panic Attacks are of a build up inside.  Say you have had fiances problems, more expenses come in that you weren't expecting, and they seem to get keep building.  Some Panic Attacks just all of a sudden come on.  Your are just doing your normal work or sometimes you can wake up with a Panic Attack.  So they can come in several ways.

Sometimes they only last for a few hours and pass.  As someone suggesting maybe crying or screaming, or resting and think of pleasant thoughts may help it pass.  Praying to the Lord will well help it pass.  But sometimes it doesn't pass in our time.

Hannah and Marilyn have both given me their permission to use their names in here and tell of their Panic Attacks.  When we were children and Hannah use to have Panic Attacks, I thought she had those to just get out of work sometimes.  Our Mother always use to say that Hannah wasn't well when she had one of those attacks.  Being a child, you don't understand, and she always looked healthy to me.  My never having had a Panic Attack didn't help either.

When I got older and my Mother started teaching me medicine, one of them that she brought up was Panic Attacks.  She explained to me about Hannah's situations and that she couldn't help those when they came on.  Hannah was not trying to get out of work - it just happened.  Most of the time, they would only last for a couple of hours - at the most.  But today when Hannah has one, it can last a few hours or weeks even a month.

I will tell you the Amish medicine ways we use, but I want you to know that if you follow these you are doing so at your own risk..  Also, if Panic Attack does not stop after a few days, then you should seek a doctor as Marilyn did.

Marilyn was told the two things she should change are cigarettes and caffeine.  The doctor also told Marilyn that one of the hardest times to quit smoking is during a Panic Attack.  She advised Marilyn to cut smoking as much as she could and to cut back on caffeine.  Although Marilyn drinks diet, caffeine free soda, she drinks coffee from morning to night like Elmer does.  She also doesn't believe in caffeine free coffee.  Says caffeine free coffee doesn't taste like regular coffee.  We tested her blind folded and she can tell the difference between coffee with caffeine and without caffeine.   Anyway the doctor advised her cut down on drinking coffee.

With the doctor's permission, I advised Marilyn as I do Hannah to drink tea made from peppermint, catnip, skullcap, goldenseal, black cohosh or blue vervain before bedtime.  Hot tea is well but with this hot weather an ice tea would be fine.  Marilyn like's peppermint tea the best. Also, I advise to rub the feet well with vinegar water before going to bed.  Also tell her to replace fear with strength and confidence.

When you go to bed or take a nap try thinking of no evil of your neighbor.  Give love and love will be returned.  Do not exalt yourself as pride goes before the fall.  Consider all the nice things that people do for you and what you can do for others.  Think good thoughts that are pure, just and honest. Prayer is the most important.  Tell the Lord of your weakness and ask Him for His healing.

If the doctor's medicine and what I said does not work, Marilyn will have to return to the doctor again.  There is therapy that will help.  One thing that concerns her is if her insurance will cover it or not.  Marilyn said this is the first time, she has had Panic Attack so bad and so long.

Just thought I would give your more information on Panic Attacks.  I am sure in medical books there is more information than I gave, but I wanted you to have some information.

So far, I have never had a panic attack although I do feel sorry for Hannah and Marilyn.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Anna

THIS AND THAT, SATURDAY

This and That is made up of pictures that I take, but I don't have enough to make a post of.  The first two are of an Amish lady washing windows.  The second is an sparrow on a Bluebird bird house. Next is an antique car I saw while driving around.  I am not sure what make it is. Next is a big tractor. Finally, I got a picture of my bluebird.  Next two are of a deer.  The last picture - remember the pictures I had of the bird and her nest last week?  Well this is Big Daddy sitting on a telephone pole next to the pole the Mother bird and babies are.

Tomorrow there is another post for Fathers Day.  It is also the first day of summer.  If anyone has pictures from the Haiti Auction they would like to share, I would be glad to put them on here.  My e-mail is lincolnlady1121@yahoo.com  Speaking of Lincoln, I am off the road again.  The car is in the garage.  They think the starter went.

JEAN ANSWERS SOME QUESTIONS

Someone asked that should one of our daughters marry a man of good faith, but no money background, does the bride family help out with property and a house.  Before our daughter married this man, we would want to know why he is in the financial position he is in.  Is it because he has been helping his family with medical expenses?  Has his Father been injured or passed and he is helping support his family? Does he have some medical or physical condition that he is unable to work outside the home?  Is there a lack of work in his area?  Or is he spending every penny that he earns on material items rather than saving some of his money?  Worse yet, is he just lazy and doesn't work.  We link our faith and work together.  If you are of good faith then you should be working, being able to support your bride and later, your family.

David and I discussed this.  What would we do?  If the man did not have any money as he was helping support his family, we would help with the property and the house.  If he had been a Foster Child and had no savings, we would help.  If he had a medical or physical condition where he could not run a farm, we would help with the property, house and try to set him up in some business that he could make an income.

If he was lazy or wasting his money, we would try to talk our daughter out of marrying him.  Should our daughter insist on marrying this man who does not work, David said they would move into our house with us.  If we had too, we would turn our attic into an apartment for them.  Then this man was going to learn to work a farm because David would see that this man learned, did the work and saved some of the money he made.  David said whoever marries his daughters are going to support her in the Old Order Mennonite way to which she is accustom.

That doesn't mean that he should be rich, He has to be a working person who has the religious faith and the means to provide for her and family.  If he is a farmer, does wood working, owns a general store, or some other religious approved means of support it is fine with us, but he must be able to support.

Also, if they marry, he is working and is injured or ill, in a position that he can no longer work, we would not allow them to starve either.  As I said before, if there is another trade that he could do, we would help him learn it and set up business.  If he was in position that he could not work, we would help them.  If we had too, we would move them in with us.

David said that likewise our young men will have to support their wife and family.  Sometimes our young men think he is too strict.  All of them put a certain amount of money they make in the bank for their future when they marry.  Not only have we taught them farming, but seen that they learn another occupation too.

In farming the weather can make such a difference in how the crops come out.  You may have several good years, then a bad year.  Starting out, with your own farm, the first few years might be tight and we would be glad to help our children out.  It is good to have another trade, too.  During winter time, when farming is at rest, another trade could be an income.   I didn't think I would go on so long on this subject, but this is important to us.

Susan has picked the boy at school that she says she wants to marry.  Actually she has a crush on him.  Of course, he doesn't know it.  He is two grades ahead of her.  At lunch recess, he plays with the boys and doesn't pay any attention to the girls.  He and his family attend where we do.  She felt sad that he doesn't notice her.  David and I told her to enjoy school, being a young lady, and her friends.  She has a while before she has to consider marriage.  Then she will not have to go to the the boys, they will come to her.

Marilyn has a message below.

Be With God,
Jean

The Haiti Auction is this evening and tomorrow.  I won't be going.  If anyone is going and taking pictures, I would appreciate if they could e-mail them to me so I could put them on here.

Thank you,
Marilyn

BARNS - TIME TO HAVE SOME MORE ON !!!!

Driving around I got some Amish, Mennonite and Englisher barns.  Do you see the cross in picture 5?  Thought I would brighten up with some yellow, but I had to cheat a bit.  Last two pictures are of a friend of mine's cottage and garage.
