The Cycle the Erie Canal tour runs behind the apartments I live in each year. Behind where I live is part of the Erie Canal trail. Today is Tuesday, July 14th so I took some pictures of the cycle folks. There are 600 cyclists this year from age 2 to 91. The Cycle tour is from Buffalo to Albany which is about 400 miles. The started arriving in Palmyra about 7:00 AM. They got here before they had even set up for them. Here the cyclists can get a snack, water and rest or, as some did, went inside Muddy Waters Cafe for breakfast. In the grey building we have restrooms. Outside there are picnic tables where people can eat. After they get done and rest they go over the bridge and continue along side the canal. Behind them travels the motor home in case someone needs help. I enjoy watching the people cycle by every year.
Next year, I think they reverse the trip and it starts in Albany and goes to Buffalo. Some people come every year. They also, sometimes change months, of the tour. I know one year they had it in the fall.

Good morning, Marilyn. How wonderful to have a front row seat! I like to ride my bike, but 400 miles? Probably not. LOL
Did you join them? Tom The Backroads Traveller
Good Morning Angela,
It was great having a front row seat. They don't do it all at once. They stop here and there along the way. Tour some things. They were on the way to Seneca Falls from here. It takes over a week to make the whole trip.I would never make it 400 miles on a bike. A car, yes. But not a bike. LOL

Good Morning Tom,
Nope. I give them all credit.

That's really neat! One certainly needs to be in shape to be able to participate in such an endeavor. Blessings, Carol
Good Morning Carol,
