VEGETABLE AND BAKED GOODS ROADSIDE STAND IN GORHAM, NY

They recently moved here and this is a new stand.  I thought I hadn't seen them before and when I look at the address they have on the honey jar is not where the stand is.  I looked for someone when I stopped, but there was no one there.  There was a place for money.  So I took pictures and looked to the right and all of a sudden there was an Old Order Mennonite lady there.  I think I jumped about a foot in the air.  We both laughed.  Her house sits way back from the road, but the stand is roadside.  I bought some cookies.  I would show you pictures of them, but I ate them. Her prices are reasonable and she is a very nice lady.  I explained why I was taking the pictures, which was okay with her. It is located on Route 245 in Gorham.  Really went looking for something else, but found this instead.  Her cookies were great and would go there again.

Marilyn, Good Morning! You really have a knack for finding these gems. Have a friend that lives in Potter, when we go down for a visit, will have to look for this place. Her prices seem very reasonable and the baked goods look really good. Thanks again for all you do!! Cathy in Webster

In Germany the farmers up North have small stands with bags of potato and a coffee can to put the money in. It is called the honor system. Some stands have a knife in a small stand and you can cut your own flowers from the field.

Good morning, Marilyn. The pies look tasty, but I would grab those tomatoes in a heartbeat! I can taste them now...big slices of tomato on fresh bread, just add mayo, a little salt and pepper (and maybe a few slices of bacon! LOL) and I would be so happy.

Good Morning Cathy,

I think you will like it there. I only took pictures of half of the stand. There is a lot more there than shown here. Let me know what you think of it after your go there. What I like about this one is it is easy to pull in and pull out of. They really thought when they set this one up. Glad I find these places sometimes.

Good Morning Gisela,

Germany stands sound like ours. Some of them here have the honor system. Sometimes people are honest. Sometimes they aren't, which is sad. We don't cut our own flowers here like they do in Germany. They are already cut. It is interesting that both countries are similar.

Good Morning Angela,

I would have bought tomatoes, but Sam upstairs of me, has lots of them in his garden and he gives them away. Nothing like a good BLT.

It is so nice to be able to support our local economies like this! How nice to be able to get fresh produce like this! It all looks quite tasty!

Hello Willow's Quiet Corner,

It is nice to be able to help our local economies. It helps us all. I think fresh produce is better than store bought.

BLTs are the best sandwiches ever.... or even a plain tomato sandwich w/mayo on white bread! Enjoy your neighbor's bounty.

Hi Carol in SC,
There is nothing like a BLT especially with fresh tomatoes from a garden. I will enjoy my neighbor's bounty.

Good morning Heidi,

I didn't get vegetables, but I can say their baked goods are great. They are very nice people. If you are going to buy baked goods, get there early. When I was there most of the baked goods were gone.
