I took these pictures a few weeks ago not far from where I live. What I thought unusual is in picture 5 - a TV disc attached to the pole on the right. The Weaverland Mennonites do have electric and drive cars, but this is the first I have seen with a television disc.

Quite the place! Tom The Backroads Traveller
G'morning Marilyn, Very nice place. TV Dish is more than likely from previous owners. I think satililte companies don't retrieve their equipment when people move away so that new owners can just call the company to begin service quickly with out having to go through installation.
Have a great day! Blessings, Carol
Good Morning Tom,
I Think so, too.

Good Morning Carol ,
I never thought of that. You could be right. It was still funny to see that there.
Blessing to you and yours,
Marilyn
Good morning, Marilyn. Wow, beautiful and so well-cared for. And you know how I feel about cows! LOVE THEM!!! LOL
Good Morning Angela,
Most of the Amish and Mennonites keep their land well-cared for. Not all, but most. Will have to see about cows. Think I have some more pictures of them.

Lovely farm and like you, I would wonder about the satellite dish. Carol probably has the right idea about it.
The satellite dish can also be used only for internet connection or a special weather station for farmers. My Dad, the farmer, had a weather station that was not TV and had a dish like this. Or they are all right, just left over. The companies say it is not worth their time to come take them down.
Hi dynnamae n,
It very well could be one that was put there by the previous owner. I agree with Carol, too,
Marilyn
Hi Anonymous,
Most Weaverland Mennonite don't have internet connection in their homes. I never thought of weather station. Also, I agree it could have been left by the previous owner.
