Going to Jean's or Elmer's house I drive by Canandaigua Lake sometimes. Thought you might like to see the lake this time of year. These were taken during the week when many of the residents and tourists are working. On weekends, this time of year, the place is packed with people.

We are fortunate to live near the Finger Lakes!
Hi Tom,
We sure are.

So pretty. Looks like during the week is a real nice time to visit there.
Good morning, Marilyn. Very nice pictures. We've been hitting triple digits all week, 105 degrees yesterday, so looks like a nice place to hang out. As for the name, the only words I can pronounce are Lake and New York. LOL Most of the California names are Spanish based, but I took 4 years of Spanish, so I've got those covered. LOL
Good Morning,
It is Vickie, you have the place all to yourself.
Hugs to Mable and Henry,

Good Morning Angela,
Canandaigua is a Native American (Indian) name. We are getting rain, which we need, and it is in the 60's here.

Hi Folks,
I just looked it up. Canandaigua means "the chosen spot." and it is.

Can-an-day-gua would be the closet way to pronounce. Try living here and doing any mail ordering, no one can pronounce or spell it!
Hi Anonymous,
I know how to pronounce it, but I live 13 miles away. It can also be confusing owing property there. Some friends of mine have a place whose mailing address and phone is Canandaigua, but their in the town of Gorham and in Gorham school district. It is confusing there.
