JEAN'S HAMBURGER STROGANOFF

JEAN'S HAMBURGER STROGANOFF

1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp pepper
1 4 oz can mushroom stems and pieces, drained (or fresh)
1 10 1/2 oz can cream of mushroom soup (or homemade)
1 cup sour cream (or yogurt)
2 cups cooked noodles

In large skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion in butter until meat is brown and onion  is tender.  Stir in flour, salt, garlic, pepper and mushrooms.  Cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.  Stir in soup, heat to boiling, stirring constantly.  Reduce heat, simmer uncovered 10 minutes.  Stir in sour cream, heat through.  Serve over noodles.  Serves 4

Good morning, Marilyn. I make this quite a bit during the winter. It is definitely a comfort food!! And very good as leftovers for work the next day. LOL Have a great day.
