MARILYN HAS SOMETHING TO SAY !!!

I have a change this week.  First of all, Veteran's Day is on Wednesday, so I will be putting on something for Veteran's that day.  Jean's recipe will be on Thursday.

Which leads to a question.  Do people still want Jean's recipes on Wednesday?  Do you still want the Christmas recipes on?  We are not getting much of a response for Jean's recipes. I am not talking just about the ones that leave messages, but on the over all pageviews.  The pageviews are very low.  Would you rather have them on every other week?  Will their be responses to the Christmas recipes?

Jean goes through a lot to pick recipes she thinks we will like.  Also, the Christmas Recipes and the Easter Recipes take a long time to make up those lists and get them on.  She doesn't mind doing it, but if no one is interested she could put the time to other use.

Also, I don't know if I will be able to get posts on every day this week.  A friend of mine's Mother passed away so I went to the viewing and funeral.  Last night I found that another of my friends Father passed away. They may need help or just a friend during this hard time.  So I don't know if I will be able to get everything on.  I hope you understand.

My Mother used to say, passings always happen in threes.  I hope she is wrong this time, but she usually wasn't.

Also, I am considering not putting posts on Saturday.  They, too, get a low response.  I would special ones on for special times that happen on Saturday, but the rest of the time, I would leave it vacant.  I think people have things to do on weekends and don't always have the time to read posts.  I would have posts Monday thru Friday.  What do you think???

I guess that's all I have to say today.  If I think of something else, I will add it.  Just want you to know what is going on.

Blessings,
Marilyn

I think recipes every other week is better. Also I think no post on Saturday and Sunday is just fine. Yes, I think people are busy on weekends. Have a great day!

Gisela's right and I enjoy the blog too. It does seem a shame to have Jean pull together recipes if there's a perception of lower interest. I just think that sometimes we get caught up in a busy day and fail to respond. The recipes are very nice, but probably every other week would be fine. And do take the week-ends for yourself. I think I remember you had considered not posting on Sundays before?
Thanks for all you and your friends do to make this a nice place to visit,
Mary

Hi Mary,
Thank you very much for your views. No, I am not usually on Sunday. Maybe having the weekends for myself would be nice.

I and my friends enjoy doing the blog.

I do enjoy reading your blog. I don't comment very often anymore. But I agree, week ends off would give you time to do whatever you want. Relax, read, take a walk, many things to do.
Right now your friends need you, if only to hold their hand.

Good evening, Marilyn. You should have a little time for yourself. I love to read your blog no matter what is posted, so whatever you do is fine. I don't always have time for new recipes, but it is nice to dream. LOL I'm fine for Jean to post every other week.

Good Evening Angela,
Thank you for about the week ends. I appreciate it. So happy you like to read my blog.
Also, thank you for telling me about recipes. We might cut down to every other week. If we do that I will have to find something else to fill the space. LOL

I love reading all the recipes and posts!
Years ago a friendship bread/cake starter and recipe went around. The bread/cake was so good. I am pretty sure it had fruit in it. I would love a recipe for the starter and recipes for the bread . It would be great to have a bunch of different recipes to use the starter.

Hi Carolyn,
So happy you love the recipes and posts.

A while back we did have the friendship bread recipe on. I don't know when it was though. I will ask Jean if she can come with different friendship recipes on. I think they are all the same start and you can add what you want, like fruit. somewhere along the way. I just don't remember where along the way. Will ask Jean. She makes breads a lot more than I do.

I enjoy your posts very much and appreciate the effort and time your spend. I have used some recipes and enjoy Elmer, Jean and Anna very much. Whatever or whenever is great with me.

Marilyn, I check your blog EVERY day, but don't usually leave a comment. We are all so thankful for all you and everyone else do for us. All the work and time that you and everyone else spend on this for all of us is so very much appreciated. I love reading the recipes, but don't cook or bake much anymore since I now live alone. Please do whatever works best for all of you. Thank you for being here.

Good Morning Marilyn, I read the blog every day, but don't always comment. I love Jean's recipes and have made more than one, but every other week would also be fine. I enjoy her Christmas and Easter recipes also. But all in all, you should do what is best for you and all of the others who contribute to the blog, I will enjoy your blog no matter when you post. Have a wonderful day. Cathy in Webster

Hi Everyone,
Jean and I were talking and we may not do anything regarding the recipes until after the first of the year. We will have Christmas Recipes, but I think she is going to cut them short a little - she won't have as many on as she has in the past. As for Saturdays off, I may start that. Just don't seem to see a lot of responses or pageviews on the weekend. Like I said, if there is a holiday or something important or I get something I can't wait to put on , I might on Saturday, but I think most Saturdays I won't put anything on. I don't usually on Sunday. I want to know what you want.

I would keep the recipes to every other week. I do enjoy them but Jean is going to a lot of work. I also love your nature pictures but you need to do what's best for you! Thank you for keeping this blog going, I look forward to all of the posts!

Marilyn: I agree with others that you need an entire weekend to rest and do as you want without worrying about posting something new. As for Jeans recipes, Christmas or other, I love reading them. Also, I look forward to Elmer, Jean, Anna, and the relatives posting their daily life experiences. It would be lovely to hear from Sarah (or Anna or Elmer if Sarah is too busy or shy) about Baby John.

Hi Anonymous,
I think we will go on recipes every other week starting in January. Glad you like the nature pictures. You are most welcome.

Hi Carol in SC,
Thank you for agreeing of taking the weekend off. Starting in January we might have recipes every other week. She will have some on Christmas, but maybe not as many days she had of previous years. I will see they get your messages.

Good morning Marilyn. I am in general agreement with comments supporting your choice to have weekends to yourself. Unless you are getting paid to do this blog, it shouldn't become a "job". I don't have a blog, but if I was going to, it would have to be for fun! And at my convenience. Those that I try to follow, most are not daily bloggers. I have been more busy lately, so keep catching up every few days. I love the writers here and all that you share also, Marilyn. Let your blog be what works for you. Hugs to you and Pierre. Have a great day!

Hi Dynnamae b,
Nope, I don't get paid. No one gets paid. It's all on a volunteer basis. Doing the blog is fun, but I have other things to do sometimes, too. Like putting items on etsy to sell and read - I love to read. Have to take care of and play with Pierre, too. All the writers are, like I said volunteer.

Hope you have a great day, tomorrow,
Marilyn
