GOD'S CREATURES - BISHOP ELI'S COWS

After Thomas and Ruth's weddings, I took some pictures including cows.  I was about to take some cow pictures and the farmer came by in his truck and asked me what I was doing.  When I explained I was taking pictures for my blog, he asked me not to take pictures of his cows, which I didn't.  Bishop Eli and Emma were in the car with me so Eli said when I got to their farm, to feel free to take pictures of their cows, which I did.

Camera shy cows?

Good morning, Marilyn. It is so nice to see cows in green grass. I know that the dairies in our state are businesses, but the cows never get to feel grass under the feet. They are usually kept in large pens, mucky in the winter. I feel sad for them. There are a few organic dairies around, but not many. We raise beef cattle, but in fields, not in a stockyard.

Have a good day.

I guess you could say that.

Good Morning Angela,
Usually cows aren't eating green grass here in December, but they are this year. Usually there is snow and it is mucky here in the winter. Most of Bishop Eli's cows are milk cows, but I can't say that he doesn't have some beef cattle. I know Elmer and Bishop Eli can better explain cows better than I can.

I have to smile about someone not wanting their cows exposed to the internet. I also noticed the size of barn and was thinking this is big and lots of cows. Glad they are outside too. I hate the big commercial farms and the cows are in stalls all day and never outside roaming. Maybe Bishops' cows are enjoying the lack of winter so they get to browse the grass. Hugs to you and Pierre.

Good Morning dynnamae n,
I thought that was funny, too. It kind of shocked me. I explained what the blog was. Bishop Eli does have big barns and lots of cows. In the winter, the cows are usually inside, but seeing we have no snow - they are outside now.

Hugs to you,
Marilyn and Pierre

Hi Joyce,
I won't really know how many he has. I should have asked him when I was there. Will give him a call and ask him. Thank you for compliments. So happy you enjoy them.
