Pierre's Operation

Took Pierre to the vet this afternoon. His surgery will be on Friday, August 26th which happens to be Dog Day.  He has to be there between 8:15 and 8:30 in the morning.  Doctor will call me when the operation is done and tell me when to pick him up.

I don't like operations on a Friday, because if something happens over the weekend, you are in a mess.  The vet told me that she will be home this weekend.  Having gone to her for years I have her office phone number, house phone number and her cell phone number.  I am not planning on anything happening, but you never know and I would rather be prepared.

Pierre can not eat or drink after 9:00 PM on Thursday.  He isn't going to be happy.  Will have to ask doctor when he can eat and what he can eat when he gets home.

For those that pray for pets, I would appreciate prayers for Pierre.  Thank you so much.

Blessings to you and yours,
Marilyn

Good Morning Jodi,

Thank you so much. You are right about pain. It doesn't hurt him now, but it might after the surgery. I think the doctor will give him pain pills. But I don't get anything but the bill. LOL

Hoping it's just a lipoma - my sheltie-collie mix lived to be 15 years old, and passed away from other causes. His lipomas never caused him any problems, and your dear Pierre looks so peppy that he's probably OK, too. Will keep you both in my prayers, and if you get anxious, just take some deep breaths, and remember we all are thinking of you.

Hi Anonymous,
My vet thinks it's lipoma, but she is going to have it sent out to Cornell University to make sure it's not cancer. I worry because my previous dog, Rickie, had cancer. Pierre is sure peppy. Thank you for your prayers and advice. I will remember you are all thinking of me and appreciate it.
