JEAN'S VENISON STEW

As hunting season is upon us.  I thought you might enjoy this recipe.  Jean

JEAN'S VENISON STEW

2 lbs. raw. cubed venison
2 cans golden mushroom soup, undiluted
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
1 cup red cooking wine
1 can sliced mushrooms (or fresh mushrooms)

Combine all of the above ingredients in a large casserole dish and bake at 325 for 3 hours.  You can serve over noodles, rice or mashed potatoes.

I may have had this one before - I don't remember.  Don't know who wrote it. Thought you might enjoy it as much as I do.  Jean

CLEANING CUPBOARDS

Today while cleaning cupboards
With neat, housewifly art
I suddenly decided
To clean the cupboards of my heart.

I threw out criticism
To the trashpile - to the fire !
I put in appreciation
And worthwhile thoughts that will inspire.

I threw out condemnation
Which says, you're wrong, I'm right!
I  put in consideration
For all folks, brown, black and white.

Yes, out went complaining
Grumbling about trivial things
I put in smiles and laughter,
To ease the tensions each day brings.

Friends, let's all clean our cupboards
With help from God above
Throw out pride ad hatred, too
Put in humility and love.

I enjoy reading your blog very much. The picture of the wood cook stove that you use, by chance is it Anna's new stove? I have one like it in my kitchen. It's an Ashland made by the Amish in Vinton, Ohio.

Hi Anonymous,

So glad that you enjoy my blog so much. The stove is not Anna's new stove. This picture came from a real estate man who had an Amish house for sale. Anna's looks something like that, but they aren't the same make. I will have to find out what make Anna's is.
