ELMER'S POST

These posts are being done before Marilyn goe sinto the hospital, so I don't know how her condition is.  I ask that you all, please, remember her in your thoughts and prayers.

Anna's Father and his new wife got married after church service last Sunday.  Church was held at Bishop Eli's house.  After the wedding there was a dinner.  The people of the church put it on for them.  As they had been married before, they asked that there be no gifts but hardly anyone paid attention to that.  Some bought canned goods and meats.  Some gave a card with money.  Some bought them gift certificate to some stores like the grocery store, tool store, cloth store, etc.

Bishop Eli gave a prayer at the opening of the dinner.  As Bishop Joseph and his family were guests, Bishop  Eli asked Bishop Joseph to say the prayer at the closing of the dinner.  After the dinner was the opening of the presents.  Then there was singing.  After singing we men chatted and talked while the ladies cleared the kitchen.  Then they came up deserts for all us.

Before we left Anna's Father thanked us all for what we did and how they really appreciated it.  He also thanked us for the gifts they had received.  When he was done Bishop Eli and Bishop Joseph each said prayers before we departed.

Anna's Father and his wife thought those that gave them financial gifts was very kind, but that it would be better doing the work of the Lord.  They went and spoke with Bishop Eli and thought that he might want to put the money in the medical fund.  Bishop Eli said he would use it where ever they wanted, but the medical fund didn't have a need at this time.  What did have a need was helping those whose houses were having water damage.  People needed places to stay, food, clothes, etc.  They told him to use the money where he felt the need.  So that is where the money went.

Hannah and Anna are getting to know their new step-mother and she them.  They are also cooking up a storm and doing lots of canning.

Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer
