GALLOWAY BURIAL VAULT

The Galloway Burial Vault is on Vault Road in Palmyra, NY.  In picture two you will note that the vault was built in the side of a hill.  Most of the lower exterier part of the vault is made of cobblestone.  Picture four shows the lock on the vault.  Pictures 5, 6, and 7 are of the exterior.  In picture where that rectangular  is was incased in glass with a doll picture of the husband and one of the wife.  Because of vandalism, the dolls were removed and are in our village museum.  The last pictures shows the stone on the grave.

Burried in this vault are:
James Galloway, July 21, 1840, 75 years, 24 days
Elizabeth Galloway, his wife, April 20, 1799, 31 years
Nancy Galloway, widow of James,  December 29, 1878, 89 years
James G. Galloway, October 15, 1820 - April 29, 1916
Caroline A. Galloway, wife of James C., December 18, 1889, 65 years
Jane Galloway, daughter, August 6, 1864, 3 months

For some reason I didn't want to put this on here until after I had my operation.
