MY THANKSGIVING DINNER - WHAT DID YOU HAVE OR DO?
Jean, one of the people that lives in the apartment complex I live in use to be a cater. Because of medical reasons, she had to close her business, but every once in a while she puts on for our apartments and this Thanksgiving was one of them. She makes everything from scratch -none of that out of a box. She is a fantastic cook.
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Apple Sauce
Sweet potatoes
Turkey
Corn
Squash
Gravy
My plate before I dug in
Pies
More sweets
I didn't get a picture out of the coconut cream pie she made. She had it in the refrigerator when I was taking pictures.
What about your Thanksgiving?

ELMER'S THANKSGIVING POST
We got back from Pinecrest. If there is any problem with the post, I take the blame. I was trying to think of a certain bible quote here and my mind went blank. I asked Anna, and her mind went blank.
We should thank the Lord no matter what time of the year and especially on Thanksgiving. I consider Thanksgiving a time to stop and think of all that the Lord has done for us. Stop and think of things, as I look back, were miracles. Also, to thank Him for the beautiful spring, summer, fall and yes winter. Thank Him for all the animals from farm animals to family pets. I could go on and on for all He has done for us.
But I also like to think of what I can do for Him. In addition to our family and friends, are there others that we feel we should pray for. Our car drivers, the fellow at the grocery store, someone we met in our travels, just someone on the street. Only God knows what is in their hearts, but I don't think we would get the felling to pray for them if we didn't get that feeling from God. Most of the time we pray for them - they don't even know we are praying for them. Also, I have walked up to someone and said I had the feeling they needed prayer. I have never been turned away.
Some may think praying with people we don't know is not the Amish way, but we are born again. If we just get a feeling and they are standing right there, we ask.
Also, the Lord wants us to help others during the year. As Amish, we help one another. But we also help Mennonites and they help us when needed. We also up Englishers, when they need our help. Sometimes Englishers won't ask us - we have to see or hear of a need and offer our help.
I am not trying to pat us on the back, I am just trying to say is that we should try to help others through out the year, too. Don't spend money that you have needs for. In fact, maybe you won't even need money. Help a neighbor carry their groceries. If you know someone is having problems, pray. Walk a neighbors dog for them, shovel a neighbor's sidewalk or driveway.
Thanksgiving, prayer and help should not be just Thanksgiving to Christmas. It should be something that we do all year round.
Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Trust God's Wisdom,
Elmer

SENATOR HENRY GRIFFITH'S HOUSE FOR SALE
This was built in 1925 for Henry and Agnes Griffith, It was their wedding gift from Senator and Mrs. Frederick Griffith, his parents. At the time the house was built Henry Griffith had not become Senator. The house has 9 bedrooms, 6 1/2 bathrooms, and four floors. This house is still in the Griffith family, but is up for sale. There are servants quarters, garden, 3 car garage, and more.
I never thought I would see the day that it went up for sale. I do know the selling price, so if you want to know e-mail me. Hope that it stays a house much like it is.
