JEAN'S POST

Michael's Girl Friend has chosen her name.  The name she chose is Sarah.  She  said she always loved that name, so that will be her name on here. We thank you all for all the names for her to chose from.

So, we have another wedding in our family. Michael and Sarha are getting married next month.  Their house has gone up all ready.  Most of it is done except for a couple small things inside.  Michael and Sarah's house and farm is right next to to Thomas and Ruth's farm on one side.

We have an annual meeting every year with the local Bishop' s and some of the people in our area discussing Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The meeting is about who they know that have needs English, Amish and Mennonite.  Maybe their needs are food, clothes, work done on their house or farm, etc.  Then they figure who should do what for who.  This year the meeting was held at our house.  Bishop Joseph, Bishop Eli, Bishop Zack plus Elmer, David and a few other men.

While the men were discussing there, the ladies were in our kitchen, seeing who needs home help, like cleaning, canning, etc.  The meeting lasted late.  I had a call from Thomas and said to keep the three Bishops, Elmer and Anna and Sarah's parents were coming.  I asked Thomas if this could be tomorrow and he said no.  So everyone else left and Sarah's parents came.

Finally Thomas, Ruth, Michael and Sarah came in.  After I gave everyone coffee and cookies, Thomas said to Michael, tell them.  Nothing happened.  Thomas said if you don't, I will.  Michael informed us that Sarah is expecting and obviously he is the Father.  There was silence and then the Bishops started talking and Sarah's parents were very upset, to put it slightly.  David and I were shock.

To make a long story short, Michael was taking lessons on joining the Mennonite Group that Sarah does.  So he will join her house (church), They will get married in November.  The baby should be born the end of April or the first part of May.

So things move fast.  The men planned the building of the house.  Ladies are busy getting things for the house.  Some men started making furniture for their house.  Now, like I said, the house is almost done.  Michael finished his teaching and was baptized into her house (church),  They were not allowed to see each other or talk to each other for two weeks and Michael said that was a long two weeks.

The wedding will be at Sarah's parents home.  All of us ladies will be cooking and baking for the wedding.  Bishop Zack will be performing the wedding.  I am also making the wedding suit for Michael.

David had a talk with Michael.  Michael says he loves her and she him.  David explained that there marriage is for ever.  Michael understood.  He's just sorry she expecting before marriage.  David said you didn't think of that before, but soon you will be married.  David told him of his responsibilities. Also told him, we still love him and Sarah and no matter what happens they can always come to our house.

Then David wanted to know why he told Thomas, first.  Michael said he wanted to know how to tell us. We laughed and said Thomas did the job like he always does.  We asked Thomas later, if there was anything else we didn't know.  Thomas said right now that was all  he knew of, but again you never know.

Sarah's parents calmed down and always liked Michael.  They figured they would marry sometime, but not this soon. Anna and Elmer were there and they wished their Best Wishes.

So now we are looking forward to another marriage and another Grandchild.

Be With God,

Jean

Michael and Sarah are very blessed to be part of your family and blessed to have other people like Elmer, Anna and their families for support and guidance.
