JEAN'S PECAN PIE

JEAN'S PECAN PIE-DECEMBER 23rd

3 eggs, beaten
1 cup sugar *
1 tbsp flour
1/2 c. Karo syrup
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tbsp. melted butter
Prepared pie crust, unbaked

Mix eggs, sugar, flour, syrup, pecans and butter.  Stir well after each addition.  Pour into prepared pie shell.  Bake at 275 degrees  oven for 1 hour.

* My Mother sometimes uses Splenda instead of sugar as my Father is diabetic.  It doesn't come to the diabetic level-but it lowers it down, some.

I have made this for Christmas for many years.  I also bake pumpkin pie, but most of the people prefer pecan.  Of course there are some that like a slice of both.

This is my favorite pie. I only eat it at Christmas time though because I am boarderline diabetic. Tomorrow is Martha's introduction and our last recipe for this year. Recipes will start coming on Wednesdays starting on January 9th. If you are looking for a special recipe - leave it in comment and Jean will see if she has one.

Love the picture Marilyn, very nice. Cold and windy here in sleepy Pennsylvania, and because of that wind I have not gone out to check out those Christmas lights yet.

But things have calmed down so I'm hoping this Monday. Today I'm making spaghetti and meat balls with some hot sausage today, so I like to make everything early and let everything sit in the sauce pretty much all day simmering.

So that's my meal plan for today along with a salad and of course some warm garlic bread, so now you all know my favorite Christmas meal.

Maybe I should film myself making all of that Italian food Marilyn and burn some DVDS and add that to the making of "the Lapp Amish buggy shop post", I know I could add at least $20.00 to each disk.

My wheels are spinning folks so be very afraid, lol. Richard

Your cold weather and wind is what we had yesterday. Right now it's not snowing here, but cold. What time is that spaghetti dinner-I'll come over. LOL You could make a DVD on Italian food, but it would be better if you had Amish food. Making a DVDS on the Lapp Amish buggy shop post would be a really good idea. Keep those wheels turning.

I love pecan pie! I have the fixings! it sounds so good!

I would love to see a very good Amish bread recipe, or Mennonite (grin). Something beyond just a basic white, and if Jean adds anything to it to have a longer shelf life. Thanks so much Merry Christmas. God Bless You All.

Hello Annie,
I love pecan pie, too. I have written your request down to give to Jean including longer shelf life. God Bless You and Yours. Hope you have a Merry Christmas,
