MOLASSES POPCORN BALLS-Dec. 14th

MOLASSES POPCORN BALLS

6 quarts popcorn
2/3 cup molasses
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/3 tsp vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter or margarine
2 tsp vailla

Pick over popcorn, discarding all hard kernels. Boil molasses, sugar, water and vinegar without stirring. Drop some in cold water to test, until it becoms brittle. Remove from stove and add butter nd vanilla.  Have popcorn in a large pan and pour syrup over it - gradually using a spoon to mix.  Form into balls.  The recipe makes about 20 balls.

I make these when I know the Christmas Carolers are stopping here.  Nothing warms them up like a mug of cocoa and these popcorn balls.

Be With God,
Jean

Going to be another cols, but sunny day today. Popcorn is a great snack at Jean's house. They have it several times a week with cocoa or in the summer lemonaide or ice tea. Usually it's in the evening when the family is all together.

I love popcorn because you can do so much with it (The fixings), with my favorite with being with butter (real). What can I say, I'm old school!

And Marilyn since I'm here I did see the show "The Amish Mafia" and after laughing through almost half of it I'm here to say its laughably bad, one of the worst TV shows I have ever seen.

So its disposable TV at its very worst, and there's a lot of it on TV now, I dont think I've seen a really good show since Seinfeld which debuted in the late 1980s! Richard

Hi Richard,
I lot popcorn with salt and butter on it. It's even better when watching a movie.

You saved me from watching that Amish show. Wish they would show some nice things about the Amish than junk.

One of my favorite TV shows, I think was in the 1990's Northern Exposure. I have the whole series on DVD. Marilyn
