THE BARK by PIERRE

Hi Everyone,

I want you to meet my friend Bandit.  As you can see he is a black cat.  He likes dogs and I like cats so we get along just great.  Most of the time Mom walks me, he follows us down the street and back.  At first I didn't think he had a home, but he does.  He just doesn't like to live there because there are other cats and a dog in the household and he likes to be independant and boss.  So he roams the streets especially where we live.  He loves to come and sit on peoples laps, when it's warm outside,  to be pet.  Also, he likes to get into the apartment buildings, but he is not suppose too.  Even though his human parents feed him, so do all the residents that live here.  They always have a snack for Bandit and one for me, too.

You note that he loves to climb trees.  He gets up there real high and makes me nervous when I see him up there.  He stands up there and tries to get the birds.  He also just likes to look around up there.  I wonder what it would be like to be up there and see far around, but I get nervous thinking of climbing up there and anyway my paws aren't that good for climbing in trees as Bandit's are.

When it gets real cold like it has been lately, his human parents come out and chase him to bring him into their house.  Sometimes they forget to close the basement window and Bandit sneaks out and they have to come out and chase him again to catch him.  Then they remember to close the window.

When it is warm Bandit and I like to chase each other.  Sometimes we kiss nose to nose.  We are real good friends.  Even though he is a black cat, he has no evil in him, he is just a great friend.  Hope you enjoy these pictures.

Your Friend,
Pierre

P.S.
I got in trouble with Mom last night.  Every night she gives me a doggie cookie at bedtime.  Well, she went out to dinner last night and I found the bag.  She didn't think I could get it where they were, but I did and I ate the whole bag !!!  When Mom got home she found the empty bag lying in the living room floor.  She was not happy.  I thought she would hit me or punish me like my old owner use to, but she didn't.  She just spoke to me very upset.  Also. she made me think about what I did.  At bedtime last night she got one dog cookie from my girlfriend's Mom and gave it to me.  Today she bought another bag of cookies and put them where I can't get them.  She still loves me.

Just thought Pierre and I would introduce you one of his friends, Bandit. Bandit likes to roam free but loved and taken care of.

Hi Pierre and Marilyn!
You know our next door neighbors have a cat named Mr. Whiskers and he lives outside most of the time. We haven't seen him lately and hope he is inside because it is just too cold. He is bigger than Mabel, and she is terrified of him. She barks when she sees him and he just calmly walks away.

Hi Vickie,
Oh, Mr. Whiskers and Mabel sound funny. I am sorry Mabel is terrified of him. He better never hurt her. I hope Mr. Whiskers is inside like Bandit is-where it is nice and warm.

I hope he is inside too. I worry for outside cats, so many dangers. I don't think Mr. Whiskers would hurt Mabel at all. He is not interested. ;) And you know what? Mabel is definitely NOT brave about anything. Most everything in the world scares her. It's hard to be so little I guess.

Hi Vickie,
I use to have the same problem with Rickie, he was a chihuahua and was scared of everything including his own shadow-seriously. I worry about outside cats too. I am pretty sure Bandit is inside because his owners watch out for him. Bandit never hurts anyone, either.

It's nice to know that Pierre likes everyone, even cats. I have two Collies and they're also very friendly. It's fun to see pictures of his friends (and Pierre too). ~Doreen

Just to keep this straight with Pierre's remarks. I have never beaten or punished him or any of the other dogs that I have owned. Have spoken very loudly to them, but never have and never would punish a dog, cat or any other animals.

Good Morning Marilyn. I just read your post about Rickie and now that my tears are over, I'll think of him with a smile. I so enjoyed Pierres' post too. I have two cats, Lily and Lucy. Sadly neither of them like dogs, of which I have many granddogs. Any of them are welcome in my home and my girls then prefer to be safely enclosed in a bedroom. Much less stress for them and the visitors. Thank you for sharing your pet family and photos too.

Thank you dynnamae. I am glad you enjoyed my doggies Rickie and Pierre. I can't take Pierre to my friends house because her can't do not care for dogs. If I brought Pierre they would hide in the bedroom, too. Thank you for your compliments.

Hi Pierre and Marilyn
Bandit seems a no nonsense cat with a soft centre
In the UK black cats are seen as a sign of good luck -especially if one crosses your path-and pictures of them on good luck cards are quite common

Hi Fionalina,
Bandit is no nonsense, but with a soft heart. In our country black cats are considered evil, a witches cat. If one crosses your path-it is bad luck. Of course not everyone believes that. I don't.
