Good Morning Marilyn, There is a sign at the end of our road that says, County Road Ends Here. Mind you it is sitting at the edge of asphalt at beach edge in front of Lake Michigan. I laugh every time I see it. There is a very funny video on You Tube about the lady who really thought the deer crossing signs were to direct deer. It is hilarious.
I know what you mean about the deer crossing sign. Sometimes they will say 1 mile, or 4 miles, or what ever, and I understand that there are some places that the deer cross more frequently, but in my area we're over run with deer and there is absolutely no way of knowing just where they'll be. They're everywhere!
On another note, I made Jean's Tuna Burgers last night and they were delicious. I put in a little more onion and chili sauce then she used, and they came out great. They're already on next Friday's menu. ~Doreen
You know, you are always going to offend someone. I had someone send me a nasty note because I quoted scripture and had a link to a prolife site that showed the progress of an unborn baby. Yet, others tell me they enjoyed that post.
Several months back, there was a recording that hit many radio stations of a woman who called in to complain. She was upset because of the deer crossing signs along the interstate. She thought the highway department should move those so that the deer would cross at a safer location. The radio host could not convience her that the signs were not telling the deer to cross here.....
Hello Doreen, I know what you mean about deer. We have them around here, too. My best friends daughter-in-law had just restored her 1987 Ford Mustang, She did all the work on it herself except the paint job. Anyway she was on her first ride in it since she restored it and deer ran in front of it. Did in the front end. She called the police and her father-in-law to come get the deer and take her home as they towed away her car. She did fix the car again but everytime she ate a piece of that deer she grumbled about what it did to her car.
Hi April, Thank you for your comments. I guess, when I stop to think about it, that post I put on wasn't in the best of taste. It's hard to believe people would be upset of a scripture quote and unborn baby.
Someone else told me about that lady and said it was on You Tube. I would like to hear it.
Marilyn, I was one who felt your previous post was not appropriate. I want to commend you for removing it. I live in the Finger Lakes region, in the midst of the Old Order Mennonites. They are our friends, neighbors and support our business. My background is from the Amish and I still have many cousins who are still Amish. I wouldn't mind meeting you sometime.
Hello Anonymous, If you saw Jean's post you know I wasn't blaming all Mennonite and Amish. In fact, when I went to get the pictures, I was just thinking of getting the farm-I didn't think of what it could cause. I am not trying to give an excuse. I won't do it again. I admire the Amish and Mennonites. I am planning on goint to some Amish and Mennonite areas where the weather clears up-maybe in you area. If you would like e-mail me at: lincolnlady1121@yahoo.com I could be going to your store and not knowing it.
Thank you, Fionalina, I made a dumb mistke and don't plan on doing it again. I have been doing this less than six months and I have some things to learn, yet.

Glad you like Jean's recipe. I will tell her.

I was pleased to see you removed your post Marilyn
We all make mistakes and have regrets no one can say they don't
To those who may be thinking of not coming back -I would say-let us not lose what we have here
