MILLER'S HOUSE AND BUGGIES

While at Miller's Bake Food Stand, I also got these pictures of their house and barn.  I don't know if they are building a new house or remodeling an old house.  All these buggies were at Miller's while I was there.  There are also two buggies in the barn.  I am trying to figure out what is hanging in the barn in picture seven. Below are two pictures of the house across the street from Miller's.

As you can see, while I was out a Miller's I took some more pictures. I don't know if the built that house or are remodeling an old one. I also can't figure what is hanging in their barn. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Hello Marilyn What a great week of information and photos on the blog. So many different people sharing in making the lives of others more filled with wisdom. So many great shots of the buggies and baked goods also. We traveled on Monday a couple of hours to get to some of our Mennonite and Amish communities here in Ontario. Bought some Raspberries farm eggs and strawberries. It was such a nice day spent with the love of my life. I did not want to leave those country roads and go back to the Highway and come home. We enjoy the peacefulness of the country. We also had lunch at an Mennonite owned dinner. It was so good and very busy. I would drive there again just for lunch or dinner. Anyway I hope you have had a good week. Thank you also to Sue Ann for all the canning information. I love this blog and it is such a blessing to my life. Praying always for all of you. Veronica

Thank you so much, Veronica. Did you take any pictures while you were traveling in the Mennonite area? Wish we had Mennonite or Amish restaurants around here. I think the nearest is in Penn Yan. Thank you so much for your prayers.

Your in my Prayers, too,
Marilyn

I feel as if I am intruding looking at these pictures especially the ones of the barn
I am sure you mean well but I just hope you got permission

Yes, I did get permission. I asked Mrs. Miller before I took the pictures, if I could take pictures of her stand, house, buggies and barns, if I did not take pictures of people. She told me to go ahead. I told her if she did not approve of any of my pictures to tell me and I would delete them from the camera. After I took pictures of the stand, she stood in there with the door open watching me take the rest of the pictures. I even offered to show her the pictures, when I got done - but she didn't care to see them. If fact, I was back there talking to her this morning, but I didn't take anymore pictures.

What very nice pictures Marilyn. I don't see anything hanging in #7. It just looks like some things are piled up one on top of the other on the right. I loved seeing the Amish rocking chairs on the porch with the laundry hanging. It looks very peaceful.

That's okay, Anonymous, it is better to be safe that sorry. I was also at the Graber's today and I got pictures of the vegetables that sell inside their barn. Also have pictures of her rag rugs again. I also got permission to take pictures of that. I didn't take pictures of the outside of the barn because the children were playing there and the Mrs. Graber asked me not too. So I didn't.

Hi Doreen,
I was at Miller's today and stuff is pilled in the barn. They are rebuilding their house as they had a fire in the house that was there before. As they don't have phones, they couldn't call the fire department, but a passing car so the fire and called it in. They did get some of the furniture out before it got really bad. Everyone got out of the house safe and sound. I like the rocking chair and clothes hanging on the porch, too.

I am going back to the previous post and leave a comment as I have the prices of the quilts, aprons and men's straw hat that Mrs. Miller has for sale. They are all Amish made. Some by her family and some by other Amish ladies in the neighbor hood.

Hi Marilyn,

I was wondering if other Amish and Old Order Mennonite homes have railings on their stairs for use? I didn't see any on Mrs. Miller's house but that could be due to their rebuilding.

Thank you & I hope you and Pierre have a wonderful weekend!

I enjoyed your photos! Looks like a 3 wheeled cart of some kind, pulled up and hung in the front to make some more room in there to me, in the barn photo. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Annie,
Glad you enjoyed them. I was there today and forgot to ask her about that cart. You are most welcome. Thank you for commenting.

#7 looks like a horse drawn dump cart sitting on top of a hayloader.

I *think* the chain to the right is part of some sort of mechanical advantage system to help dump it.

But the combination of the photo, my computer monitor, and my eyes isn't quite good enough to be certain!

Hi Matt,
Thank you so much. I should have asked Mrs Miller, yesterday, but I didn't think of it.

If any of you would like to purchase the quilts or aprons on the previous post-the prices are in the comments. Also my charge for postage is there. I only accept Postal Money Orders. I will be going to Miller's next Friday or Saturday. If I receive your money by then, I will purchase the item and mail it out on Monday.

If you want a Graber's rag rug-there are $20.00 plus $10.00 postage. I can also get those if you want one.
