SPRING AND SUMMER FLOWERS TREES AND MORE IN OUR PARK

Seeing I messed the post up yesterday, I thought I would put a new one on today.  These are spring and summer flowers and trees in our local park.  The picture on the bottom was painted on a fence in the park, by our local High School artists.  The students and their teacher came up with the design.  They also took time from after school, weekends and vacations to paint this picture of our Main Street. I think they did fantastic work.

Good Morning Everyone,
After I put the post on yesterday thinking it was school and it was a school, but not the one I thought it was. I thought I would put something on today. These photos are from one of our local parks in my town.

I know this is off the subject, but if you are looking for a good book to read, I just finished Linda Castillo's book, Her Last Breath. It's a mystery, Amish novel. The story is about a lady who is brought up Amish, leaves and becomes a police officer. She is asked to come back to the town she grew up in as Police Chief. It's one of those you don't know who did it until the end. I have read all of her books so far. The book just came out, I was the first to read it from our library. One of Castillo's books was made into a movie. There was talk, but I don't know if it will happen of making it into a TV series. Anyway the book is great. I really enjoyed it.

Well, FINALLY, my car is fixed. The man wasn't suppose to work today, but he did to do mine and another one. The brake light is off after he replaced part of the brake lone. I hope this is all the problems for a while. Ugh owning a car. Can't get along with them, but I can't get along without it. I think of the Old Order Mennonite and Amish horse and buggies, but I guess them have problems, too.

Hi Marilyn, I did see the movie-made for TV I think. It certainly was a mystery up to the end! Had a 3hr T-storm late yesterday afternoon again. Apparently this June has been one of the wettest to date in NY. How's your "volunteer" training going? Take care+keep up the great work with your blog and your wonderful friends who so graciously share their lives and wisdom with the rest of us. Blessings, Carol

Pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
We had a terrible storm last week, 70MPH winds came and took down trees, limbs, etc. We have a half tree in our front yard now. Our son, who lives 50 miles away, came up. He and two neighbors cleaned up our entire block of trees, limbs, etc and hauled several load to the recycling. Everybody was lucky, no homes were damaged.

Just got back from an Amish and Mennonite area that I had never been to before. Got some pictures that I will put on. Some of the pictures are of a Mennonite bake food stand along side the road. Of course I bought there.

Carol, I saw the movie, too. I also read the book. The ending in the movie was a little bit different than the one in the book, but I enjoyed the movie. I am doing well on the job from what they tell me. All we are doing is waiting to see if my boss is coming back or not.

Jodi, we have had rain storms here, but not as bad as you. In our area we have been lucky. Other areas haven't been as lucky as us.

Beautiful pictures Marilyn. I LOVE the painted wall.

This book sounds good. I checked our county library to see if it's in an e-book format so I can download it to my Kindle, but it's not, so I think I'll put my name on a waiting list and get it from my local library. Thanks for the good review.

You take really nice pictures, Marilyn,,I always enjoy your "shots around the town".Yes, horse and buggies have their woes...got to keep the wheels with axle grease...horses need food and rubbing down...and then SOMEONE has to muck out the stalls!!!!! Either way..there is work and worry if something goes wrong...Glad it has worked out for you now!

Good Morning Sue Ann,
Glad you liked the pictures. I will have more "shots around the town". I agree with you and the horses. I think I would rather have my car. So glad it worked out, too.

Good morning Marilyn. Great shots you took. I have been reading all week but have also been keeping busy. Glad to read that things worked out with your car. Looking forward to what is ahead in the blog this week also. Thank you again for all you do to keep us learning so much more about the Amish and Mennonites. We are very blessed to be able to learn more about their life. I hope you are having a good weekend and know I am always praying for you all. Veronica
