FINGER LAKES MUSTANG RALLY - 8/3/13

I went to Phelps Sauerkraut Festival and was very disappointed.  There were no sauerkraut vendors, no sauerkraut fudge man, no craftors, etc..  But as I was leaving, on Main Street in Phelps, I came across the Finger Lakes Mustang Rally.

I always wanted a Mustang.  When I graduated High School in 1967, was working and buying my first new car, I wanted a car exactly like the first three pictures, but my parents wouldn't allow it.  Something about my driving crazy, careless accidents, and getting killed  in a sports car like that, so, seeing I still lived in their home,  I settled for a regular Chevrolet, Bel Air.  Maybe my brother who was a school teacher and just bought a Corvette Stingray had something to do with it.  So in all these years, I never got a Mustang.

Hope you enjoy these Mustang pictures. As you can see, a 1955 Ford, was there, too.  So I took a picture of that plus many of the Mustangs.  I didn't take them all, but I tried to get various years-from the first ones to the newest.  A couple of the cars had unusual license plates, I thought were cute.

The last picture is of me sitting in a 1966 Mustang.  I was taking pictures and the lady came up and spoke to me.  I told her my story about never having had a Mustang so she told me to get in hers and she took pictures of me in the car.  I really appreciated her taking the pictures and told her.  But, I really wish the pictures had been of me in that 1967 Mustang convertible.  Oh well.

Thanks for sharing your story Marilyn. The pictures are great. I really enjoyed the one of you. Too bad it wasn't your '67 convertible.

Good Morning Vickie,

Happy you liked the pictures and story. I wish it had been in the '67 Mustang, too. Oh, well maybe sometime down the road it will happen.

Always great seeing Mustang's of any year Marilyn, and I'm now on my second Ford Mustang myself and I drive it as much as I can especially while the weather is good.

I have been to a few great car shows so far this year here in Pennsylvania and I have to say that " they sure love their classic cars here in the Lancaster area".

As a "side note" I really like the new "retro" orange New York license plates and I wish they would do something like that for our plates here, bringing back " you have a friend in Pennsylvania" would be a great start with that slogan being my all time favorite!

Hi Richard,
I thought you would like these Mustang's. Glad you like your second Mustang.

We have another car show coming up Canal Town Weekend in our town. Hope to get pictures there.

I like the old plate back. I thought the previous ones were like Florida's. I hope Pennsylvania gets their's back, too. They add something like class.

Hi Doreen,

Glad your like the Mustang Photos.

I don't know what they were thinking. Every other year they had sauerkraut vendors, sauerkraut fudge man, all sort of bakery goods with sauerkraut in it and more. This year they had nothing. All they had were rides, a jewelry vendor which didn't have any sauerkraut style jewelry and eating places (hot dogs, hamburgs pizza, etc.). If it weren't for the Mustangs it wasn't even worth the driver over there.

wonder why they call it a sauerkraut festival then? Seems silly......should have just called it a Mustang Fest!!! Heck..we could have gathered up all the readers and posters from New York State of Mind and did a booth! All the sauerkraut pros that are here now!!! LOL!!! Glad you are in a blue Mustang!! My fav color!!!! awful nice of her to let you sit in it! some of the car shows here....you can hardly breathe in the same direction of their car!! They are very protective of them!!

Hi Sue Ann,
Every other year they had all sorts of sauerkraut things. They were even on the Food Channel for their Festival. This year there was nothing. We should have set up a sauerkraut both. LOL It was nice of that lady to to let me sit in her car. I know most people won't let you near them. My brother had show cars and he really got upset if someone touched it.

This is Pirates Weekend and I am Mom's Pirate. She dressed me up in some dumb Pirates Costume with a hat, yet. She might enter me in a dog parade today. I just want to get out of this dumb costume. It's the price we have to pay to please our human parents. She will have my picture when she does the post for Pirates Weekend.

By for now,
Pierre

Marilyn, I read the first two sentences of your last comment and didn't realize that Pierre was writing it. I thought that someone was dressing YOU up in a Pirate Costume. When I read the next sentence, I burst out laughing.

I can't wait to see the pictures.

Hi Doreen,
No, I'm not the pirate. LOL Pierre is. They's have to pay me money before I would do that. LOL Glad I made you laugh.
