CANANDAIGUA LAKE IN THE SPRING

Canandaigua Lake is the fourth largest of the Finger Lakes in New York State.  City of Canandaigua is at the north shore of the lake and the Village of Naples is at the south end of the lake.  The name Canandaigua is from the Seneca Indians Kanandarque which means "the chosen spot." Canandaigua Lake is 15.5 miles long, 1.5 miles wide and a shoulder of 35.9 miles. Canandaigua Lake is about 14 miles from my house and about 5 miles from Jean's house.

I took these pictures back in April.  With all the cold and snow, I thought it would remind us of some of things we have to look forward to in a few more months.

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope you enjoy Canandaigua Lake. It is really a beautiful lake. Great for swimming, boating or fishing.

It warmed up a little today, but we can't get use to it as it is getting cold next week. Going to get a blood test this morning. The blood test I was suppose to get in October.

Thank you for mentioning the word "Spring" - it has been so cold this winter. I miss upstate NY and love living near a lake. Beautiful country.

Sure happy you enjoyed the post. Spring is coming. It might take a while, but it is coming.

I love the Finger Lakes area. Your pictures are really making me look forward to Spring. My poor dogs have cabin fever. We all need to get outside and do a little running (well they run and I walk).

Marilyn, thanks so much for these pictures. I can't wait till we can enjoy the beautiful Finger Lakes again in warmer weather. We have friends who live in Potter, NY and to get to their home, we always drive by Canandaigua Lake, so beautiful! Cathy in Webster

Hi Doreen,
I love the Finger Lakes area, too. Wouldn't want to leave anywhere else. I wanted to remind us that Spring is coming eventually. Pierre wants to go out, too, but isn't crazy about all this snow.
